This isn’t your average history tour. It’s a rich, immersive journey through the heart of one of Scotland’s most storied towns — led by locals who live and breathe Paisley’s past.
You’ll hear the echoes of monks in medieval cloisters, walk in the footsteps of radical weavers and poets, and uncover the stories behind some of the town’s most iconic and overlooked landmarks. Using personal audio headsets, you won’t miss a word as your guide brings Paisley’s layered history to life with warmth, insight, and a few surprises.
A commitment to authenticity, this tour offers a deeply human connection to the people and events that shaped Paisley — from its proud industrial roots to its cultural revival.
You’ll have fun, too — as one recent guest said:
"We had a blast! The guides were so knowledgeable and humorous — a fantastic way to experience the city. Highly recommended!"

Really interesting, great for locals or tourists. Doing great things for the town, Paisley history is as interesting as any other tour I’ve been on

A great tour, we really enjoyed it. Knew Paisley had its history but to find out more about places and the people who came from there was humbling and very informative.

We really enjoyed the enthusiasm and pride our tour guide, Neil, brought to the experience. He pointed out details and told us fascinating stories to complement the walk about. Saw some stunning historical sites and later we went back to explore more. Top notch tour! The Paisley tour company puts Paisley on the map. I wish we could’ve done all the tours! 💥💥💥💥💥

Paisley Tours provided a thoughtful and engaging experience during the inaugural Paisley Legal Walk in September 2025, which raised funds for The Access to Justice Foundation. The walk brought Paisley’s unique legal history to life, including the famous “snail in the bottle” case, Donoghue v Stevenson, a landmark in the law of negligence. Our guides shared stories that were moving, with some uplifting moments and others more reflective or sad, showing both sides of Paisley's history. The guides were well-prepared and spoke simply. Their approach balanced the legal facts with a sense of humanity. They talked clearly about how some events, like the snail in the ginger beer, changed the law for everyone and made consumer protection stronger. The route was planned to suit a range of walkers, and the schedule ran smoothly.

We were lucky enough to be guided by Hugh. He was simply amazing. The history and stories of this fantastic town flowed from him with ease and humour. My mum struggles with her hearing and his care and attention to her, so she didn’t miss anything, was way beyond what we expected. The content of the tour would have made it worth doing but Hugh made it a really special experience. Thank you Hugh

I thoroughly enjoyed my walk with Hugh. He was very knowledgable about the area and was very happy to answer my questions. I would’ve been very happy to spend more time walking along with Hugh.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour on Saturday! Neil, Gavin and Hugh are all super friendly, fun, knowledgeable and passionate. I've lived nearby for years and never knew any of Paisley’s history. From the stunning architecture of Paisley Abbey and the Town Hall, to the long history of thread manufacturing, to the witches stories and the links to William Wallace. All fascinating, mixed with lots of humour. Looking forward to Halloween. Thanks guys!

Our tour guide, Hugh, gave us an informative and highly entertaining tour of the town of Paisley. While you are probably aware the Paisley design and the thread works, Paisley has so much more history and Hugh made it come alive. I would highly recommend this tour.
