Explore six historic neighborhoods surrounding the Panama Canal on a 2h45m guided bike tour that dives deep into the political, cultural, and human stories behind one of the world’s modern wonders. This isn't an engineering-focused tour—instead, we uncover the complex logistics, housing programs, social unrest, and cultural transformations that shaped the Canal Zone. Ride through 15–19 km of local streets while discussing U.S. brands like Coca-Cola and McDonald’s, the architecture of canal-era housing, and how American influence reshaped Panamanian identity. A powerful ride through history, power, and resistance.

This was one of my absolute favorite tours I took while staying in Panama City. It gives you a chance to see places outside of Casco Viejo and explore other great parts of the area. Bring a zip lock bag for your phone in case of rain ;) The guide is awesome, great to have conversations with, and provides great perspective on Panama culture and life.

If like me you didn't read the guide books before arriving in Panamá, no problem, just book this tour and Jonathan will tell you what you need to know, and more! I highly recommend this trip to anyone who is comfortable riding a bicycle and wants to explore Panamá City beyond the old town.

The bike tour with Jonathan and Elena was a very unique experience to see “less touristy” things in Panama City. We went to parts of the city that a tourist would not normally go to. Ths was the first time we had ever tried a bike tour, and the whole thing was well coordinated. We didn’t feel unsafe at all. But we heard a lot about history, how things got to where they are, and why some parts of the city are considered “no-go” zones and how the local community is trying to address that. We also got a unique view of the canal (not the locks, but the canal and the bridge of Americas) which I’m sure we won’t get if we weren’t on this tour. Both guides were fun and open to talk to. Certainly recommend this tour especially if you want to get a more autentic and local view of the country and the city.

Jonathan and Aron were great hosts. You feel super safe with the both of them stopping traffic. Jonathan is a local who is extremely passionate about his local area and that really comes through. He was really knowledgeable and really helped explain the differences in the various neighbourhoods around the Canal Zone! Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant bike tour with Jonathan at the front giving interesting insights into Panama’s social, political and cultural history alongside clear instructions about when to turn left, right and stop. Very well-organised with radio earpieces which worked well and were simple to use. Arun was a great support at the back helping guide traffic and explain how the gear levers worked. The bikes are decent and the ride is generally flat. Highlights included a boat and tug chugging under the Bridge of the Americas, fishermen bringing in their catch at La Boca, a mural showing Panamanian resistance over the years and just the contrast between the vibrant traffic-filled streets and the calm, empty, leafier areas. We even saw some deer. Overall a great way to see six districts of Panama City and get a real feel for its history.

The Best History Lecture You Take While Moving. Forget the engineering textbooks. This isn't a tour about how the Canal was built—it's about the messy, fascinating human stories of who lived there, who ran it, and how Coca-Cola became a political statement. The Vibe: A powerful, 2h45m dive into American cultural influence, Zone-era housing, and local resistance. You cover 15km of neighborhood streets, pedaling past architectural ghosts and political battlegrounds. The History: Our guide expertly swapped out talk of locks and dams for tales of social unrest and the surprising role of U.S. brands. It's an insightful crash course in power, identity, and logistics. The Ride: Short enough that you don't need to be a marathon cyclist, but dense enough that you'll be thinking about it for miles afterward. Verdict: If you want a vacation that makes you smarter and challenges your perspective in under three hours, stop looking and start riding.

A unique Bike Tour that showed us non-touristic spots about the history of Panamá Canal and how it influenced the surround neighborhoods. Jonathan was a incredible guide, and the rest of the team was always looking out for our security. This tour is a must do in Panamá City.

This was a wonderful tour, a ride through history and the neighborhoods that make Panama great. Jonathan explained the other side of the city that most tourists do not see, very knowledgeable and passionate about his community, highly recommend. Also the ear piece is genius so everyone is alert on the ride.

This was a great tour. A bit of exercise. A bit of history. Some social anthropology. It was delivered with great passion by the husband and wife team. And we saw a toucan!

Fun, exciting, extremely easy route to navigate, and best informative tour Guides! The husband and wife duo are the best at what they do. I felt safe, comfortable, and at ease during my tour. I am hard of hearing and they took great care of me. They use the ear walkie talkie to communicate everything you need to know. Most bike tours, I always feel left out and excluded, but not with Johnathan and his lovely wife, I felt included and I was able to hear everything. The bike path was easy to get around. I’m glad I chose them. Book them , don’t even think about it. They love what they do and it shows. And if you’re hard of hearing, the ear walkie talkie works! Brilliant idea on their end and it lets you know they put a lot of thoughts into their tour.
