The tour is very well organized. It is divided into three parts. The boat trip along the Chagres River and visualization of different species of monkeys very beautiful, plus you sail through the Panama Canal and see the traffic of large freighters. The visit to the sloth sanctuary did not meet expectations. Finally the cable car 🚠 was spectacular to enter the rainforest and be able to climb to a viewpoint where you look at the Chagres River, the Panama Canal and the jungle.

The boat ride to monkey island was fantastic. The tram ride was excellent. NOTE when you get to the top you you will need to climb about 10 flights of stairs to get to top. It nowhere said this. The sanctuary was a bit disappointing. The guide was great. But the animals were few especially the sloths. Only 2 were out. I get it is to keep them safe but disappointing. Our tour guide Michael/Miguea was FABULOUS. He gave us a mini tour en route to facility and pointed things out and gave the history. He also took us to a little market in Gamboa which was cool to see!

What a fun filled day! We got to experience so much on this tour. Our tour operators were very accommodating and considerate of everyone’s needs. We were a group of 8 and were so happy that we met two new friends on this tour! They were the perfect fit with us. Every part of this tour was special. We got to ride the aerial tram, we saw so many monkeys while on the boat. Make sure you bring a banana so that you can feed the monkeys! We were very lucky that someone from the boat next to us gave us one. Our captain and tour guide were great and very knowledgeable about the ecosystems. The sloth sanctuary was a bit dull. Not much to see other than the few sloths resting and relaxing. But as it was the end of the tour we were happy to be done with it and head back. I’d like to send out a special thank you to the tour operators that really were very professional throughout the entire experience.

We had a lovely time on our tour. The activities were well paced and we learned a lot about the rainforest. The highlight was the boat ride on Gatun Lake, where we saw many different species of monkeys, as well as birds, bats and even a sloth that have their habitats on the islands of the lake.

This excursion actually included 3 excursions-Gatun Lake with a trip to Monkey Island, the Sloth Sanctuary as well as the Frog, Butterfly and Orchid Sanctuary, and finally the tram ride through the rainforest. Our guide, Miguel, was bursting with facts about Panama’s flora and fauna, animals, and history. He stopped at least three times pointing out animals as well as the various locks and property surrounding the Canal. We learned a great deal about the former presence of the US as well as the astounding work of the Panamanians who increased the Canal locks and precisely navigate ships in the Canal. It was a fabulous day!
