Canal de Panama
The Panama Canal (Spanish: Canal de Panamá) is an artificial 80 km (50 miles) waterway in Panama that connects the Caribbean with the Pacific Ocean. The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Panama and is a conduit for maritime trade. Canal locks are at each end to lift ships up to Gatun Lake, an artificial lake created to reduce the amount of excavation work required for the canal, 26 m (85 ft) above sea level, and then lower the ships at the other end. we visit the Miraflores Locks on this tour and you will see the operations of the canal by fresh water using the fresh water as elevators.
Amador Causeway (Calzada de Amador)
Built in 1913, with rocks from the excavation of the Culebra Cut during construction of the Panama Canal, the Causeway joins Panama City with four islands: Naos, Perico, Culebra and Flamenco. The site was part of a US military complex called Fort Amador that had established to protect the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. Currently, vestiges of the military installations can be seen on the islands, beautiful view of the modern city and breakwater of the panama canal at the pacific side.

Miguel picked us up at our hotel in a clean, well appointed comfortable car and took us on a tour of the city and beyond. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot of history of Panama. He is an excellent teacher, clear and concise. We would highly recommend this tour as he is flexible and willing to adapt to your interest and abilities. Fantastic tour and guide.

Miguel was absolutely the BEST choice we could have made! He was so knowledgeable about everywhere we went and so courteous! He had so much information about Panama City and the canal, especially the history, which I greatly appreciated! I can’t recommend him more! By far the best tour we have ever been on!

My husband and I did a full Panama City sightseeing tour with Miguel during a stopover. He planned the day perfectly based on our interests (he even spotted sloths in a tree and we had always wanted to see them!), was a great communicator, and was flexible when our plane landed a bit early. He's such a knowledgeable guide and we thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with him. Highly recommend!

Chris was a fantastic guide. He picked us and dropped us at our accommodations. He was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions. We learned a lot about Casco Viejo, saw the American bridge, causeway and bio museum and other sights. We appreciated the time spent at the Panamá Canal.

We want to thank Miguel for this excellent tour. We had a stop over at Tocumen Airport and could see the Panama Canal in action, Miguel provided us with an extensive guide about the canal, Panama City, we could enjoy local food and also toured Casco Viejo and its surroundings. At the end of the afternoon we came back to the hotel to rest and continue our final destination. I highly recommend this tour with Miguel.
