  We booked a tour of the Versailles Palace, Trianon, Queen's Hamlet and grounds with a guide who would meet us at Palace Gate A within 30 minutes of 11:30 am start. Although booked a month in advance, we never received the 3 tickets, only confirmations saying we would receive tickets at least 24 hours in advance. 3 days before the tour, we were advised the date originally paid for had to be rescheduled to 1 of 2 other dates. One date was not acceptable due to other tours & the other date 1 person could not attend due to flight conflict. Not only did attempts to request a refund for the 1 ticket were rebuffed, but on the agreed date for the remaining 2 ticket holders were suspect because we never received tickets. We were told by personnel at Gate A to go to the ticket office to straighten it out. By the time we got through the wait at the ticket office, our tickets arrived, but they had already reissued tickets for us with a 2:00 entry. So not only did we NOT get in on the original date & time, but we had no guide. We found our own way to the Trianon & Hamlet and had to pay an extra 10 euro each to get the train back to the palace in time for the 2:00 entry. This tour experience was horrible!! We got nothing that we had paid for, other than entry to Versailles and there is no way to request a refund for the poor treatment. Based on our experience, it appears Trip Advisor contracted with Viator, who contracted with Wanderung Guides Paris - all of whom dropped the ball. What a shame, so disappointing.

  The ticket co donation they sent me saved into My Apple wallet was NOT accepted at the entry gate. I had to buy two whole new tickets. Totally unacceptable experience.

• Palace Tickets Were 2 Hours Later Than Expected

  We booked these tickets in September for our 10 October visit on TripAdvisor. Bur we did not get our tickets from their local operator until a few days before. When we checked our tickets, we found out that they were for 2 hours after our requested time to see the palace. So we called Viatour, Trip Advisor's ticket agency, and they told us to call their local operator, Wanderung Guides Private Limited. So we called them and tried to get the time changed. They refused and said that we could spend the 2 hours seeing the gardens first then see the palace. But then we would have only 2 hours to see the palace. They said that would be plenty of time to see the palace. They also said that requested time of entry may be up to 2 hours later than requested, which is what they did to us. Finally we asked to speak to a manager. After another delay, he called but he said it was 'impossible' to change the time. We ended up rushing through the palace as it was very crowded. Very disappointed.

  We drove to the palace car parking which was pretty straightforward with satnav tho expensive as you’d expect. We waited for an hour outside with the queue for our entry time- chatting to other English speakers. The palace is stunning, so opulent it’s too much to take in. There are a lot of people herding around so it keeps you moving but I took loads of photos to edit and assimilate later. The gardens are a massive achievement - just phenomenal!

  I've booked about two days in advance (pretty much last minute). Managed to get the time slot, I wanted. The operator sent me the ticket the following day. Service is perfect. I turned up on time at the chateau. I was let in at the booked slot without any issues. I'm absolutely satisfied with Viator and Wanderung for the arrangement.

  It’s a must visit charming place, we enjoyed so much the arts, history, the garden which was breathtaking, riding bikes and exploring around. Def. worth every penny but be prepared to walk all day, it’s huge.

  Misleading title of the ticket “Paris: Versailles Palace with Gardens and Estate Entrance Ticket” Don’t buy .. you will end up in the garden only. Big scam

  We went to the Castle on a Saturday and we booked what was available on the site: the Castle + Garden Passport + 1 hour bike at 64 euros. Except that the gardens close at 5pm and the castle at 6pm, so basically, they sell us something that is physically impossible to do. Be aware that you must buy at least at 3pm to be able to do everything possible. Basically, we paid 64 euros per person for a visit to the castle where we were pressed to leave at 6pm.
