A journey to discover secrets and most authentic flavors of our land. We will start from the King of Cheeses, the Parmigiano Reggiano, visiting a family-run farm, where this excellence was born ten hundred years ago and it is still made with the same ingredients and techniques. It is a result of hand-made experience of one man: the “casaro” (the cheese maker) who creates the “wheel” of Parmigiano Reggiano, in a full-artisanal way. We will continue our gourmet experience visiting one of the best producers of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia. Here, we will discover the secrets beyond this unique and sophisticated product. At the end of both visits you'll taste both products. At the end, tasting lunch in a local restaurant or agritourism based on typical products.

After the visits at the local producers, you will have the tasting of the product

Nice locations, more independent high quality producers rather than so.e big industrial company. Private driver was punctual and friendly although didn't speak English this wasn't a big issue, guides at both location spoke perfect English and happy to answer any questions. Customer service was flexible to accompany some changes to our schedule.

I’m not sure why I didn’t write this review as soon as we returned from our trip, but it was one of the things we talked about most after our 3 week trip to Italy. We were in Florence, Rome and Lake Como, but our stop here was probably everyone’s favorite. Our guide picked us up at the train station and took us to his family farm. Watching this process from start to finish was incredible. Grating fresh “parm” on our salad or pasta is something we take for granted in the US. Watching the whole process from start to finish of what is involved in the making of this wonderful cheese was definitely a highlight. After the tour of the cheese factory, we went on to do a cheese tasting, which was also wonderful. Another highlight was the trip to our guides uncle’s balsamic distillery located not too far away. This was also fascinating. Everything about these smaller towns was so charming and our guide was just delightful. Knowing that both businesses were family run was a bonus. After sampling the sweet balsamic that had been aged 25 years, none of us would leave without purchasing our own bottle. We all would happily recommend this tour!

We spent a lovely morning at a producer of parmigiana reggiano and a producer of dop balsamico outside Modena. A private driver picked us up at the train station and brought us to each location. He was prompt and professional but didn’t speak much English. The tours themselves were both excellent. We learned a lot about the making of both delicacies and got to taste plenty of each! The cheese is made early in the morning so if you show up after 11 am you won’t get to see that part. The estate where the balsamico is made also served us a light lunch that was delicious. We were dropped off in the center of Modena at our request so we could explore the city on our own. One snag was the operator did not give our name to the parmigiana farm but used her own name so we all were a bit confused but eventually figured it out. Highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour of a Parmesan dairy and a balsamic vinegar producer. The guides were great; it was very informative but also not too long, and we enjoyed the opportunity to try lots of samples! We highly recommend booking this as part of a trip to Modena.

Both tours were superb. We began with the parma tour. Our personal guide was delightful. We saw how Parmesan cheese was made, including visiting the cows on this self-sustaining farm. While it wasn't grape harvesting season, the balsamic making tour was equally interesting, and seeing and smelling the different barrels age on the top floor gave us a good understanding of the ageing process. During our tastings with different foods our experience was capped off by a visit from the owner!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the making of parmesan. The farm was clean and cows were happy.!😁 Great cheese tasting at the end. Balsamic tour was also great . Tour guide was very nice. Sampling of 12 year and 24 year old balsamic was nice and the food parings were nice.
