The Hike of the Gods and lunch at the Shepherds hut was the highlight of our visit to the Amalfi Coast. Gaetano was an amazing guide taking care to give us instructions on what to bring, where to meet and shared insights throughout the trip - Including local legend and mythology, history, agriculture and culture. He was was a dream guide, who took us for lunch at the shepherds hut, where we met Antonio (the shepherd) ate the most authentic Italian lunch we could have hope for, took in amazing views and got up close to donkeys, pigs, goats and herding dogs. Truly was the most amazing and memorable experience my husband and I could have hoped for. Gaetano was also kind enough to agree to be our driver for the trip, taking us door to door for an extra fee, which was totally worth it, since we got a mini tour of the Amalfi coast on our way to/from Positano with key points of interest brought to our attention along the way. Many thanks to Gaetano and Antonio - it was an amazing experience and everything I hoped it would be! The highlight of our trip without question! :-)

Review: Path of the Gods with Gaetano – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience Hiking the Path of the Gods with Gaetano was truly beyond words. The views were nothing short of breathtaking, but what made the experience unforgettable was Gaetano himself. His passion, knowledge, and personalized attention turned an already spectacular hike into something magical. Not only did he guide us safely along stunning cliffs and panoramic vistas, but he also brought the landscape to life—pointing out wild herbs, walnut trees, fig trees, and countless other natural treasures that ancient Italians once used and still rely on today. It felt like stepping into history with a guide who knew every inch of the path and every story it held. The highlight of the day was lunch at a shepherd’s hut, where everything was fresh from the garden or farm. As a surprise for Carla’s 50th birthday, Gaetano made sure there was a candle placed in her pasta—a beautiful, thoughtful gesture that made the moment even more special. If you’re considering hiking the Path of the Gods, don’t hesitate—book it with Gaetano. You’ll get more than just a hike; you’ll get an unforgettable memory and world-class hospitality. Can’t recommend it enough.

Path of the Gods hike does not disappoint with many gorgeous views of the Amalfi Coast , beautiful hillside farms, vineyards and homes! The wildflowers were also in bloom and the morning temperatures were pleasant for hiking. Sweet donkeys and goats also made an appearance on the nearby hillsides. A MUST DO is a midday stop at the Shepherd’s Hut for a delicious lunch, more AMAZING Mediterranean views that are topped off with moving acoustic guitar songs and serenades. Our considerate guide Gaetano points out blooming flowers, geographic and historical points of interest as well!

This was an awesome hike along the Amalfi coast with stunning views. Gaetano with Go In Italy was a wonderful guide with great knowledge of the area. While the hike alone was beautiful, lunch at the shepherd’s hut was a truly unique experience that shouldn’t be missed. Delicious fresh food, striking views, and great company. A wonderful, memorable experience.

Our hike along the Path of the Gods with Gaetano from Go In Italy Tours was absolutely amazing—an experience that truly lives up to its name. It was springtime on the Amalfi Coast, and the trail was bursting with wildflowers in full bloom. Every step offered sweeping, breathtaking views that made it instantly clear why this trail is called the Path of the Gods. It felt like walking through a dream. Midway through the hike, we stopped for lunch at “The Shepard’s Hut”, a rustic, farm-to-table gem tucked into an old stone farmhouse along the trail. The food was fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was warm and authentic, and the people who welcomed us made the experience even more special. Gaetano’s knowledge of the area and his passion for sharing it with others made the day unforgettable. This wasn’t just a hike—it was a journey through beauty, history, and hospitality. A must-do if you’re on the Amalfi Coast!

Gaetano guided us from Sorrento to Positano to Almalfi, where we hiked to the Mills Valley. (We did not have time for the Path of the Gods — this was a great alternative!) The hike was beautiful and included historic sites. He arranged for us to have lunch on a farm — such a nice change from crowded restaurants and so delicious! Gaetano is both knowledgeable and easy to be with. We thoroughly enjoyed his company. Our day with him was one of our favorite experiences during our two week vacation in Italy. Highly recommend!

This was the highlight of our time on the Amalfi coast. Lina was an absolutely exceptional guide, so knowledgeable and patient as our small group had different levels of energy. The path is stunning-but not necessarily easy, so you should know that going in. The stop at the shepherds hut was refreshing and delicious with great atmosphere and lots of joy from our host. Highly highly recommend for those who like a bit more activity on vacation. If you book this just know you will have to plan to get to your meeting point ahead of time. We took a car service from Praiano and it took a little over an hour -but again, totally worth it in our eyes!
