What To Expect
Chaiya Mangalaram Thai Buddhist Temple
Our driver will be waiting for you at your hotel lobby and proceed with the tour. Wat Chayamangkalaram Temple is a Thai temple in Penang famous for its large gold-plated Reclining Buddha, which is at 33m, is one of the largest in the world.
Dhammikarama Burmese Temple
Dhammikarama Burmese Temple is a Burmese-style Buddhist temple, founded in 1803, with elaborate, colorful stupas and sculptures. At the main prayer hall, voices are reduced to whisper and the silence is broken only by occasional ringing of temple bells. The latest addition to the Dhammikarama Buddhist Temple is the Golden Pagoda Bell Tower.

A fun way to learn a lot about Penang

5.00Really good tour, our guides took us around Penang and explained the history of the island with lots of information we wouldn’t have been able to catch without him. We also visited lots of historical sites and then went to The Top, the highest point in Penang.

5.00I cannot praise this highly enough.. from the very start (message confirming pick-up sent to me in good time) the car was comfortable and spotlessly clean. My host driver has been guiding for over twenty years and knows EVERYTHING there is to know about Penang, it’s culture, it’s history. I had a recent operation and at present have a cane nd I was taken great care of throughout the trip. Parking close to everything, assistance in exiting cr and dealing with any steps.. It was all done with such charm and friendliness and PROFESSIONALISM. I give this trip the highest “mark” I’ve ever given after decades of trip Reviews.

If you want Petronas Tower tickets don’t do “reserve and pay later”

2.00Yes I does say in the description that if they can’t get tickets for Petronas they will get KL tower tickets. But they should have a note that if you are doing “ Reserve and pay later” that they won’t buy the tickets until the day before the event. The reason I purchased this specific tour is because the Petronas towers tickets were included. Also the Batu caves. The tour is pretty expensive but we did not see the Batu caves because of an Hindu holiday and we did not go up the observation deck for Petronas tower. When we got on the car I asked the driver if he got the tickets for the Petronas tower and he said yes. I said wonderful ! I told him that since we were not going to Batu caves that we wanted to go to KL tower but we will pay for them. He stopped in a store and bought KL tower tickets. When we got to Petronas Tower he said: there is the entrance. We asked him: ok but we need the tickets. Then he said: oh no we called yesterday and the tickets were sold out so you got KL tower tickets. I was so upset!! The driver was almost mute he wil point to the next place and say the name tat is all. This was the worse Viator tour we have taken.

He was very knowledgeable about Penang and the country in general, and knew the best places to bring me to. He was very fluent in English and drove extremely well. I’ll always have great memories of Penang because of this tour.
