Definitely do this excursion! They were efficient, informative, and friendly. I learned so much along the ride about the geography and history of the glaciers and region. The guides are so good at what they do! I would 100% do this again.

I took the choice of park and boat and it was very satisfying, first you walk in the park on the different trails and then you do the boating to be closer to the glacier.

We booked through Viator before arriving in El Calafate. Very good experience. It is definitely worth paying for the boat journey as part of the tour. We didn’t pay the entrance fee to the park before the day - and this did not cause much delays. Communication was good prior to the trip, in the booking confirmation there is a whatsapp number to contact the previous day to confirm pick ups etc. We were picked up on time at the hotel, the guide Natalie was very knowledgable and the journey to the park flew by as she gave us all a detailed explanation of what we would see during the day - and a geography lesson. The driver was also excellent - it snowed heavily during the afternoon on the way back to el Calafate and I felt completely safe. The boat journey is amazing, I was glad that I had several layers of clothing (July). We then made our way to the walkways for a different view od the glacier. The whiskey with ice from the glacier at the end is worth it. Great trip and one of the highlights of the trip to Argentina.

Perfectly timed tour which balanced group and solo opportunities. The boat ride is a can't miss - for those that want to experience the glacier you absolutely must do the optional boat ride. It was the undisputed highlight of the whole day.
