Bai Biển Vung Tau
Vung Tau has four known beaches—Front Beach, Back Beach, Pineapple Beach, and Paradise Beach. Front Beach (Bãi Trước) is the most popular, which for many others is enough reason to stay away. In addition to the crowds, the water is rather polluted and doesn’t offer the best beach setup. However, you can still enjoy some fresh seafood at the many stalls and restaurants that have set up shop—they serve some of the most delicious seafood in the south of Vietnam. For a better beach experience, head to any of the other three. Back Beach (Bãi Sau) is much less dirty, and perfect for surfing. As the beach gets some wonderful wind swells, kitesurfing shops have appeared over the years, offering rentals and classes for all levels.
White Palace
Bach Dinh, or the White Palace of Vung Tau City is located at 4 Tran Phu Street, on the slop of Big Mountain. Standing 50 meter above the sea level, White Palace has its French name which is La Villa Blanche. Tracing back to the year of 1898, it was considered as a summer holiday villa of French Governor General Paul Doumer. This palace was named after his lovely daughter. Unfortunately, while the structure was being built, Doumer had to come back to France and became the President of France later. It was not until 1916 that it was officially used for holiday resting of some Indochina-French Governors. Once visiting the White Palace, you will be attracted by its all white appearance, which is the reason why people here call it “Bach Dinh” (“Bach” means white color in Vietnamese).

This was great as it was customisable, picked up at the port, which was seamless. We visited Long Phuoc Tunnels Historical site and the Long Tan memorial at our request. The Long Tan memorial was a highlight and is an emotional experience. Our tour guide Castle was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the history of Vietnam and current issues. He was thoughtful and friendly. We also visited the Robert Taylor Museum of Worldwide Arms which was fascinating and a Buddhist Temple which was peaceful and did the many steps up to the Jesus statue. The driver was excellent and we felt safe with him as the traffic can be a bit hairy. It was lovely to be in an air conditioned car and be able to avoid the bus loads of tourists. Highly recommend this guide, driver and tour operator as communication was seamless and everything was wonderful. If you are cruising choose this over a crowded bus trip. Many thanks to Castle and our driver. We will never forget going to the Long Tan Memorial and meeting the devoted Aussie digger who is the self appointed caretaker for this important piece of history. Thumbs up all the way.

We had the perfect private tour with Lynn as our Guide. She confirmed tour plans and meeting location and time ahead of time so there was no confusion and she was waiting when we arrived. She was flexible on the schedule which was perfect for us. There were no cruise tour buses to deal with we saw sites that big bus groups can’t go to. Lynn is very knowledgeable about and shared history and background on everything that we saw, plus answered our many questions. Lunch was great and we really enjoyed eating the local cuisine. We highly recommend this tour in Phu My, Viet Nam.

Competent guide and good driver as a good team. Fair offer to cancel the trip to Ho Chi Miinh City because of the military parade. Vung Tau was also very worth seeing and not so crowded that day.

Mr. Ben was awesome. He took us to the Long Phuoc Tunnel where nobody was so we had the whole place to our selves. He also took us to the Song Vinh Church which was beautiful.
