Relax on a full-day excursion from Rome to Ponza Island with time to swim and explore. Swim in the azure sea, discover sea caves, soak up the sun, enjoy a freshly made seafood pasta lunch, sip wine, and spend spare time on the island. Learn about Ponza’s history and its link to the Greek poet Homer.
The ferry to Ponza (€60, not included, payable at check-in) departs from Anzio and takes 1.5 hours. On arrival, take a short breakfast break, then board an excursion boat for a 5-hour cruise around the island. Discover hidden coves, dramatic rock formations, and sea grottoes while your guide translates the Italian commentary. Make 4–5 stops to swim and snorkel, and enjoy a picnic-style pasta lunch prepared by the captain.
On limited dates, you can also upgrade to a small group (15 max) with a more elaborate lunch: friselle with tomatoes, fish-based pasta, dessert, fruit, water, regional wine, and coffee.
We return to Rome by 9:00 PM.

Incredible experience!! Such beautiful views, relaxing day; crystal clear water and lovely tour guides. The only reason I took off a star is because all of us who went thought the ferry fee was included so I ended up paying 120€ extra for me and my friend that day.

It takes about 3 hours by bus then ferry to get to island. This is a must do! The water was so clear and blue. Perfect to snorkel. Pasta lunch is filling. Gelato boat pulled up along side for sweet treat option. Bring plenty of sunscreen!

Ponza is beautiful! Tour guide Mara was very nice and friendly. Captain was great and crew, food and drinks not so much. We were offered water once during lunch as well as wine and that was all. The pasta was ok. For the amount of money we spent each we had better expectations for the lunch. Also keep in mind you need to pay an extra 60 euros for the ferry. The ferry was definitely rough, recommend to sit near the back or middle to avoid getting sick. Everything ran on time but wish we had more time in the water.

This tour was so much fun! Ponza is a great island and so beautiful. The water is on the cold side but definitely worth the experience. If you get sea sick make sure to take something before you go because you eat lunch aboard the boat.
