What To Expect
On board a classic sailboat, for two hours you can glimpse the coasts of Porto and Gaia, take pictures in our suspended hammock and enjoy all our instagrammable corners. Being the only sailboat able to take the tour of the 6 bridges of Porto, we depart from the Douro Marina in Afurada, passing by the Arrábida Bridge, arriving at the historic area where we pass the D. Luís I Bridge, following by the Infante D. Henrique Bridge, Ponte Maria Pia, Ponte São João and, finally, Ponte do Freixo and we return to the Marina

The couple Bruna and Helder (who speak French) are very helpful, attentive and kind, and welcome maximum 10 people on their traditional boat the Happy Douro, for more than 2 hours and crossing the 6 bridges of Porto, until sunset. This quiet cruise is accompanied by a nice aperitif: cheese and cold cuts, peanuts, olives, crackers, homemade tomato jam from Bruna’s father, drink of your choice. Explanations, covers, photos including one possible in the hammock finish the quasi-private ride which contrasts a lot with the crowded tourist boats... Nice little corner also in Afurada to enjoy fresh grilled fish directly in barbecues in the street, be careful it is a little far (3-4km) you can either walk along the Douro it is very well equipped, or take a taxi it is fast). One of the best experiences in the city! The 360° view of Porto’s Ribeira district, Dom-Luís Bridge and Vila Nova de Gaia will be remembered!

5.00This boat ride was the highlight of our whole vacation! Bruna was absolutely kind and accommodating, even bringing out small toys for our 2 year old to play with. The charcuterie board was incredible, and we loved the personal touch of the tomatoes and tomato jam coming from her mom’s garden. We took amazing photos and videos that we can’t wait to show our friends/ family and display in our home! We had beautiful weather and appreciated the shade the boat offered since the sun was very warm. It was such a memorable and fun day on the Douro River! Highly recommend 😁

5.00Absolutely fantastic experience! I'd even go so far to say it was the highlight of our entire trip. We were running late from a longer than anticipated lunch and they were so kind and gracious. Once on board they had snacks and drinks waiting for us. The boat was meticulously clean and we absolutely loved spending the afternoon out on the water. I couldn't recommend this excursion enough!

5.00I want to thank the happy Douro team for providing the best 2h of our day. It was an experience to repeat, who has doubts in experiencing a moment like this is not fantastic. We have another different perspective from Porto/Gaia , surreal. Very good snack, thought out with care and affection I wish you the best of successes and thanks again ❤️

5.00The Best part of it all! It The tour was Beautiful great experience with family both elderly and children! They gave the kids a wooden Ship to play absolutely amazing! The drinks and snacks were amazing the Captain & Bruna very informative and knowledgeable about the history of Porto and the bridges truly amazing experience! If you’re thinking about it just book it will be unforgettable experience!

5.00Cruising the Douro on Happy Douro was pure magic. The boat is beautifully restored and tastefully decorated by a couple who left their previous careers to welcome guests on board. Their eye for detail, warm service, and inspiring story gave the experience so much soul. Every inch of the boat reflects their love for what they do, and you feel it!!
