On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. Amazing two million years old and 21 km long system of underground caves is one of the most easily accessible networks of underground caves in the world. First, you will experience the ride by electric train, after that, a guided walk will follow through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars, and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is home to the mysterious, unique, and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or "baby dragon" as it is popularly called here.
Back in the daylight, the trip will continue towards the astonishing castle of the robber knight Erasmus. For centuries dramatically hanging in over a 100-meter-high vertical cliff, it's waiting for you to enter and discover its secrets, legends, and myths.
Driving through the green scenery, we return to Ljubljana.

There is a constant temperature of 10°C (50°F) in the caves, dress properly, and wear comfortable shoes (flipflops are not recommended).
The minimum number of participants must apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative date/tour or full refund.
In case you fail to provide us with a desired meeting point up until 24h before departure, your meeting point will be the City hotel (Dalmatinova 15, 1000 Ljubljana)

5.00A day started with our positive welcoming guide Kolja. We were in minivan for one hour. During this time Kolja talked about the History of Slovenia. He gave a great timeline of events. He was never tired of explaining all about Slovenia. The caves… nothing can be fair to explain them here. It is a must see. I am sure neither photos not the videos can do a justice. After spending 1,5 hours in the caves we went to the castle. That was also very unique castle inside a cave. The whole trip is definitely advised.

5.00This was a fantastic half-day tour from Ljubljana to Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. Everything was well organised, and the experience was both enjoyable and informative. Our guide, Luca, was incredibly kind, helpful, and very patient, making sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the trip. He shared a lot of fascinating insights about the history of Ljubljana and Slovenia, which really added depth to the experience. It was the perfect half-day tour, highly recommended!

5.00Kolja was our tour guide and he provided excellent information about Slovenia throughout both legs of the journey. We were collected from the hotel with ease. The caves and the castle were both excellent attractions and well worth a visit. One small criticism would be that I think a bit more time is needed at the castle, as it felt a bit rushed.

5.00The caves were spectacular and you get to see a lot! Around every turn is another amazing sight! The castle was an added bonus and fascinating to see how it blends in with the hillside and cave. Our guide George gave us lots of great insights into the history of Slovenia on the journey there and back.

4.00This was a great tour! I booked it to see the castle and didn’t have any expectations for the caves, but I’m so glad I saw them too! They were gorgeous! I only wish we had more time between the caves and the castle for a snack and more time at the castle.

5.00The Postojna Cave is beyond amazing, which is one of the best places that I have ever visited. Once you see it you would never forget it. We are lucky as the weather was good and there were very few tourists around. Our tour guide is great, he made our trip easy, smooth, and fun. This is one of the a few best trips that I have booked with Viator. Highly recommend.
