What To Expect

Not a snowshoe nor a traditional long back country ski – but a cross-breed with best of the both worlds. A wide, short, agile ski makes it easy to travel across thick snowfields. No previous skiing experience required for enjoying gliding across the puffy snowfields. Exploring Arctic forest was never so easy and effortless! The Premium Wilderness Skiing Tour lasts 4 hours and is more thorough experience than the Classic option. The tour can and will be tailored based on the clients' request. Guide will give a knowledgeable presentation about the Arctic nature and the old Lappish beliefs. Altai ski is a short, easy-to-use forest ski that combines the best features of a snowshoe. With a partial climbing skin integrated into the base, the ski climbs with ease. The skin also makes the ski slower and easier to control than traditional skis. The ski’s short, wide design makes it incredibly maneuverable, ideal for thick woods and variable terrain, a truly all-purpose backcountry tool.

The two guides were lovely and helpful as it can be tricky to get up if you fall. The experience was peaceful and beautifully scenic amongst the forest. Having never skiied before and having 2 knee operations, there were no issues, and options for easier routes if needed. It's not an action activity, rather a peaceful experience amongst Pyha's beautiful national forest and a family bonding experience. The guides enhanced the experience and were very natural providing interesting facts throughout the activity.

Our best day of a long week trip was the one we had with Bliss. Our experience with Artturi the guide was out of the ordinary. Beyond the experience itself, which was great, Artturi accompanied everything with broad and deep explanations, about history, culture, local characteristics, and all with a smile, with warmth, and with extra listening to what speaks to us and suits us. The personal attitude, the kindness, the generosity and the demonstrated desire to cause pure pleasure throughout the entire day were evident and left a deep impression on us. The pleasure at the end of the day was on several levels - from the experiences we gained, from the views we saw, from the super professional and confidence-inspiring guidance, from the good and pleasant company, from the wealth of information we received, dipped in lots of fascinating anecdotes and stories, from the truly extraordinary personal attitude. We connected with Artturi immediately and the flow throughout the day was like between friends, it was a great pleasure and we were left with a wonderful taste of more and happiness for the experience that was, and sadness that it ended. We will be very happy to return to this beautiful area once more, and we will be very happy to have more experiences with Artturi. The equipment was of the highest quality, so I can only say praises and good things about the tourism company itself, bliss. A big thank you for everything, and for unforgettable memories!

Experience quality wild skiing with a superb guide who spoke very well French and English (Inès if I'm not wrong name...)! We were only with her and my husband, and we took a lot of pleasure in this walk filled with beautiful landscapes, silence, sensations during the descents... it was too good! We were even able to enjoy a small meal around a fire that warmed us well. Thank you to her for sharing her knowledge of the nature found in Finland, for guiding us well and for introducing us to wild skiing! I recommend ++++, this day is one of my favorite of my stay. Thanks again!
