  The representative showed up briefly at the designated time, shouted at us to wait, he’d be right back. He showed up 10 minutes past the start time of our designated entry and gave us tickets for a start time 15 minutes after our entry time. It was another 30 minutes before we could enter the building. Very disappointing. I think we are due a refund.

  Not worth the price. We arrived at the designated meeting place by 8.00 and there wasn't anyone there to meet us. He finally showed up at 8.10..no sign...no identication...it was the man who worked for the gallery directing the lines who pointed him out to us. By that time there were already over 100 people in line for the 8.15 time slot. They were also letting in people who had not pre purchased tickets. We were given the tickets and told to scan a QR code to get the audio guide on our phones (it is too crowded and loud to hear unless you have headphones). The tickets themselves are 20 euro each (approx $65 Cad). We paid Viator more than double that for basically nothing extra.

  Beware of scam: no reception, late delivery of tickets, no queue cutting. Unusable audio: no repertoire of works, impossible to know what is commented. You have to “fall on it”. Guided audio from the museum is much better! Run away

• Tour operator was late and audio tour was terrible

  My husband and I had a poor experience with this experience last week. The experience offered “skip the line” entrance to the Florence Gallerie delle Academia and an audio tour. Our email confirmation said we had to go to a Meeting Point to get our actual tickets. We were told to literally hover outside an address across the street from the entrance to the Gallerie - don’t go in the door or knock on the door - and to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Someone would check our vouchers and give us our actual tickets. We arrived about 20 minutes early (9:40). We found the address which looked like the door to some offices. Other people were standing there too. Little by little, those people were approached or walked away. By 10:00, our entrance time, we were standing there alone and unsure what to do. We approached the actual Gallerie employee in the ticket line and she said our vouchers were not tickets and to go back to where we were loitering outside that door. Finally, a man came rushing up to us, LATE, gave us our actual tickets and had us scan a QR code to download the audio tour. The tickets worked fine, we “skipped the line” and went in. The audio tour, however, was terrible. First of all, the narrator droned on in a monotone in a slow pace and I was a bit dismayed at how boring it was. Next, the narrator only discussed a handful of the many pieces of art in the museum. He took a few pieces and discussed them at length. The problem is, he didn’t tell you where these pieces were located. He discusses the Pieta by Michelangelo at length and it really made us want to see the piece. We finally asked a museum employee to direct us and the sculpture was right by David! The narrator could have said “right before approaching David, look at the last sculpture on the right” or something like that. He also goes into great detail about a Madonna painting and how she’s wearing blue robes, but no hints as to the location of this painting. We went back and circled the Gallerie another time, looking for this painting and never did find it. All the Madonna’s were wearing white or red. It was very frustrating. After we were sure we had covered every Madonna painting, we finally had to give up. My advice is to rent the official audio tour from the museum and don’t use this terrible one. We would have gone back to the entrance to do that but there’s only one exit once you’re in. So, bottom line, we did get our tickets (although a bit late) and did get to “skip the line” but everything else about this experience was a disappointment. The Gallerie was full of excellent art and we wished we had a better tour.

  We have been here at least 4 times. It is amazing each and every time we have visited. The reservation system is easy. The staff is tremendously helpful and knowledgeable.
