The Basilica of Saint-Sernin, Toulouse's cathedral, bears witness to the history of the city and its inhabitants. Emperor Constantine and Bishop Maximian became the first bishops of Toulouse in 313, followed by St. Julian who helped to develop the city's Christian architecture. The Church of Les Jacobins has been an integral part of the city of Toulouse since the 12th century. It was built as a Romanesque church and then expanded in the 13th century with a bell tower. It is now a landmark in the city and can be seen from all over. The visit is from the outside.

5.00Our enthusiastic, informed guide Cecile was absolutely wonderful. She gave us a wonderful overview to Toulouse. Excellent English and we enjoyed all the little known antidotes of BBC the people and places. A well paced tour and we weren’t rushed as Cecile was always considerate to our needs. Highly recommended.
