  We booked the 6-day private Big 5 Mid Range Tour Safari with Meru Slopes and it exceeded every expectation. From the start the communication with Kelvin, who handled our booking, was excellent. All our questions were answered quickly and also the payment process was easy and seemed safe. Our guide Max picked us up on the first morning and made us feel very comfortable. With 13 years of experience he knew the Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater inside out. He shared his deep knowledge of wildlife and ecosystems and always managed to place us in the absolute best viewing spots. Even when many cars gathered around an animal, Max managed to position us in pole position so that we had clear and close views while others were stuck behind. Thanks to him we saw all (!!) of the Big Five and much more, including a cheetah with four cubs, a leopard eating in a tree and large lion families chilling under the cars. And of course, many many more of all the animals that are living here. The safari jeep was well equipped with plenty of water, soft drinks, wine and beer. The lunch boxes were always very generous and delicious with local food. The accommodations were much better than we had expected. Every lodge and even the tented camp in the Serengeti offered modern, clean and comfortable rooms with excellent dinner and breakfast! The whole experience was worth every cent. The price was lower than other offers we found online and we cannot imagine that anyone else could have provided a better safari. We highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours and especially our guide Max who made this trip truly unforgettable.

  We went on a 6-day Private Big 5 tour and cannot say enough how great of a trip it was. From start to finish we were 100% satisfied. It was a real pleasure to communicate with Kelvin who had seamlessly coordinated the trip and airport transport. We had a few changes to our flight itinerary to which Kelvin was very responsive. The driver was punctual and drove safely even in dark conditions. The safari itself was guided by Florian who I must say was excellent. He was a seasoned and patient driver who knew the parks inside out. He was often the first one to spot “key” animals such as lions and rhinos. Moreover, he knew the best viewpoint where we could clearly see and take nice photos of them. He gave us sufficient time to observe and was never rushed, yet completed the program easily. Thanks to his keen sight, we managed to see all the animals including the Big 5. He responded well to our questions and provided thorough explanation of not only the fauna, but also the Masai and Tanzanian culture. In a nutshell, he met all of our needs and demands.   Private tour, and tailor-made, besides Serengeti, Tarangire and Ogrongro, we went to lake Natron (great landscape), and one day trek in Kilimanjaro (nice but kind of tired), good driver and vehicle as well as helpful support from travel agency. Unforgetful memroy!

  It is difficult to express with words how wonderful and life changing this Safari was. It started with a recommendation from a friend who had been done the same safari a year before with the Meru Slopes team. So, in a way, this is a second recommendation for Meru Slopes. My first contact was with Kelvin over WhatsApp. He was responsive and took the time to answer all my questions in good detail. On arrival in Tanzania, we were met by our driver Nixon who was eager to greet us with a smile and explain a lot of the local culture while taking us to our hotel. He even volunteered to show us around Arusha, take us to a local outdoor market and to other places of interest. We had 3 full days of safari with our guide Florian. Florian was knowledgeable about all the areas we visited, all the different animals and plants we saw and took a lot of pride in his ability to find us the things we most wanted to see. All the lodgings were good and the food in Tanzania is outstanding. I have to say that this tour was a trip of a lifetime that I will never forget. A large part of this was due to the care and handling of the Meru Slopes team. I take my hat off to them in gratitude and I strongly recommend this operator and trip to those of you read this review.

  Meru Slopes was great! Total of 11 days in Tanzania, and Zanzibar. North and south in the Serengetti, the crater, Masai village, Our guide Moody was very experienced, showed us some incrediable things! We saw at least 35 different animals an birds, from a family of lions devouring a freshly killed bullfalo, a new born giraffe calf trying to take its first steps, and the wilderbeest migration, an more! Sleeping out in the tented lodge where the animals roamed hearing their sounds at night, sitting out on the hotel deck seeing the animals stroll by, to the rock mountain beautiful Lobo lodge nestled in the rocks, with a fantastic view of the serengetti. The wilderbeest migration was one of the highlights, Our guide Moody was able to put us right in perfect position to experience this incrediable event. He was very friendly, very knowledgeable, an always saw to our needs and comfort. From the plains of the serengetti to Zanzibar, beautiful tropical island, crystal clear waters. From swimming with dolphins, snorkeling the reefs, massive tortoises, spice tour, local culture and food, Meru Slopes was able to deliver. Everything went smooth, no glitches. Would definitely recommend then for your own personal tour!

  We have just completed a 6 day private lodge safari tour with Meru Slopes. What a fantastic experience! After a long search through tripadvisor, we made the only right choice! Meru Slopes distinguishes itself by, among other things, offering a free overnight stay in a hotel before and after the safari. Our accommodations were top notch, with the luxurious Kubu Kubu Lodge as the highlight. Moreover, this company offers free wifi in the jeep during the entire safari, which meant extra luxury. Communication with Geoffrey, the boss, was very smooth. We stayed in the lodges we preferred. Everything was possible and personalized. Secondly, we had a very good guide that you should ask for if you want to go on safari with Meru Slopes. Muddy, was great for several reasons. * He was very friendly and did just about anything asked. * Muddy knows a lot and is also concerned about nature. As he himself says: "All the animals are my favourites". * He really knows all the other guides so he had the right contact at the right time to find the right animal. We saw it all and more... * We were able to follow the great wildebeest migration closely through the expertise of our guide. * Muddy also had the nice quality of not saying what we were going to see, which made it always exciting until the last minute. We can therefore only recommend choosing Meru Slopes and if possible, with Muddy as a guide. Thanks to him we made an unforgettable journey.   My girlfriend and I chose Meru Slopes for our first Safari in Tanzania (and first Safari in general). The communication with Geofrey, the manager, was great from the beginning. The plan, the trip, the car, and specially Innocent - the driver, and Eric - the chef, were awesome. People make the difference when it comes to experiences like this, and they both were amazing. We are so glad we chose Meru Slopes after checking hundreds of different tour options. We'd definitely repeat and recommend them for anyone looking for a Safari in Tanzania. Thank you :)

  What a memories we made! Loved it! We did the private 6 day safari with ranger Benson and chef Chadi, with an extra hike-day on the Kilimanjaro. In advance we had contact with Geofrey in the office about the program. He had allways a friendly and quick respond. Arriving in Arusha everything was well arranged. We started in the Green Mountain hotel. That's a nice place to start the journey. Benson and Chadi picked us up in the jeep with open rooftop. They drove us to the awesome National parks (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara) and showed us all the things you hope for. We were very lucky to see so many animals and even the migration. Camping in the parcs was an wonderfull adventure. In the morning, afternoon and evening chef Chadi suprised us with fresh and nice meals. The one day trip to the Kilimanjaro was too much. From Arusha it's a long drive so we advise to do it from Moshi. We informed Meruslopes about our exeperience and they came to the hotel to discuss it with us. That was a good thing. We really recommend Meru Slopes for a wonderfull safari in Tanzania

  All magnificent. Our guide, Gasper, led us to the best observation sites, always safe. The landscapes and animals exceeded expectations. The logistics, campgrounds and food were fastastic. We recommend mero slopes and Tanzania in general.

  We had an incredibly great safari with meru slopes. Jacobo is the best safari guide you could ever wish for: Knowledgeable, funny, friendly, service-oriented and has a very good eye for spotting the animals even from a distance. From the pick-up at the airport to the farewell in Arusha, everything went very well: the car was in good condition, the selected hotels were great and the food during the safari was really delicious. The handling in advance with Geoffrey was also superb. Planning and payment went smoothly and we felt comfortable at all times. I can recommend Meru Slopes to anyone looking for a perfect partner for a Serengeti safari, and not just because of the value for money.
