Get an insight into the life of a Berlin Artist and an opportunity to see his studio. Learn a new skill as you experience a photographic darkroom and ditch your phone, load your film in an analog camera and get snapping!

What To Expect

We meet at the studio where you will get a tour of the darkroom and an introduction to my practice as well as some instruction on the use of an analog camera and photographic film. Then we go out and shoot together. then we come back and process our negatives. Then we pick up our bikes and go on a tour of the cool district of Moabit heading towards the historical part of Berlin Mitte taking in the Brandenberg Gate, Reichstag, and Tiergarten. During the trip, you will receive guidance and tips on how to approach strangers to be photographed, composition, lighting, and other aspects of street photography.

When we booked this experience we weren't fully sure what to expect other than maybe a chance to mess around with analogue cameras a little bit at tourist hotspots. Instead we opted to have Jason show us around the places he loved where he lived. We learned a about the history of the area, got to see some beautiful graffiti murals, and experience a different side of Berlin. Jason is funny and engaging, very patient and clearly extremely passionate about photography. We took some unique portraits that we can't wait to get printed from the film we got to develop (with a lot of hand holding of course) in his darkroom. We can't recommend this experience enough, we wish we had a whole day! If you're looking for a way to make your own memories and very personalized souvenirs of your time in Berlin, book this experience!
