Baños town is known as the “Gateway” to the Amazon region, as it's the last city still located in the mountains before reaching the jungle. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed in this sub-tropical climate. Baños is the place for outdoor activities like rafting, canyoning, horseback riding, canopy, mountain biking or hiking. There is a beautiful route through the most impressive waterfalls of Ecuador, “Ruta de las Cascadas”. With this day tour you go rafting in the Pastaza River with level III/IV rapids, visit the “Swing to the End of the World” and you can take the optional (not included) canopy line “El Torpedo” or bungee jump off the bridge.

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Banos. Rebecca Adventure Travel was really responsive ahead of time around planning our day tour and letting us know how to prepare. Jose was a great guide during the day and really tailored everything to us. We were picked up from Quito around 5:30 for the 3 hour drive to Banos. The white water rafting company was also wonderful - they did very comprehensive safety briefings, navigated us on class 4 rapids, and took great photos / videos. After lunch, Jose picked us back up to go to el pailon del diablo and casa de arbol before returning to Quito. We would definitely work with Rebecca Adventure Travel again and would highly recommend Banos.

We took this tour with our family. It is a great te as long as you understand that Baños is three hours away, and more if traffic is bad. We would do it again, but it is a long day. We got picked up from our hotel in Old Town Quito at 5am. It's about three hours to Baños and the guide will stop whenever you need to for a bathroom break or to grab snacks. In Baños we had about an hour to walk around and see the town, grab a bite to eat, shop, etc. We then went to the rafting outfitter office and filled out the paperwork. (You'll need your passport number for each participant). We then boarded a bus and headed to the Pastaza river. On the way we stopped to pick up wetsuits, helmets & shoes and then head to the put in on the river. There are some rustic changing rooms, but you may want to wear your swimsuit. There are a couple of different sections of the river. Ours was a class 3-3.5 which is fun, but not too wild. If you want the class 4-5 be sure to ask in advance and have some experience. We had a guide in the raft and another safety kayak who also took pictures and video, which they email to you for free afterwards. After rafting we got changed on the bus, bring a towel and a plastic bag for your wet Swimsuit. We then enjoyed a wonderful Ecuadorian lunch. We thenet back up with our driver/guide who took us to the Devil's Cauldron which is an incredible waterfall with a path along the river, a couple of hanging bridges, and steps right up to the waterfall to get pictures. We then asked to go to La Casa del Arbol which is about forty minutes or so up the mountain. This place is a lot of fun and has the 'Swing at the End of the World' which swings out over the side of the mountain. It is great for photos. There are also a bunch of smaller and less scary swings for all ages, and a small swing zipline all included in the $1 entry fee (which our guide paid). There are bathrooms, a small café and beautiful flower gardens with incredible views of the volcanoes. Afterward we headed back to Quito arriving around 9pm. We slept much of the way he with a stop to use the bathroom and buy a few snacks. Well worth the trip!

We did a 1 day trip from Quito to Banos on my boyfriend's birthday and it was amazing!!! We should have stayed in Banos at least 1 more day to explore even more. We did white water rafting, the swing at the end of the world, and bungee jumped off a bridge. My bf is very adventurous... I am not... but this was the perfect place to explore activities that he would enjoy and that ended up being really fun for me too! Ceasar was our driver for the full day and was such a great addition to the day and knew so much about the history of the region and country. We had great conversations with him and he took us to a great breakfast once we got to the town. William was a great and funny white water rafting pilot who made sure that we had a really fun and safe time. We loved that experience. I also worked with Karina at Rebecca Adventure Travel to arrange a cake at lunch for my boyfriend's birthday. They brought it out, with a candle and everyone sang to add an extra special touch to the day. I loved working with this company and would highly recommend this activity for anyone who loves a little adventure.

We booked our Baños 2 day trip with Rebecca Adventure Travel. Communicator was excellent, safe driver from Quito, Nice cosy and clean hotel, had a thrill with White water rafting, and the canyoning, which we did for the first time was fun. We were a little concerned about the canyoning at first, but we had a private instructor for the two of us and everything felt really safe. Recommend anyone to book with Rebecca Adventure Travel!
