What To Expect
Try capoeira, a traditional Brazilian martial art, during a 3-hour private class in Salvador. With a local guide, learn about the history of capoeira as a form of resistance among Africans during their 500 years of slavery in Brazil. Participate in a private workshop to learn some basic moves, then join a regular class with other regular capoeira school students. Walk away from this special cultural experience with a better understanding of how important this practice is to the Afro-Brazilian history of Bahia.

5.00This tour is so much more than Capoeira. It is a mix of Brazilian and Angola history, music, soul, movement, defense and life. We witnessed a class of experts dance, defend, sing and inspire us and each other. With the help of the legend master, we played percussion and sang. We learned capoeira moves and pushed ourselves individually and grew stronger as a family. Our guide Wilson shared translation and history along the old town streets and beyond. What an awesome start to our discovery of Brazil. You must check this out. Bring workout gear and shoes. Thank you!

5.00Amazing! Must do while in Bahia. A very well planned out tour with very passionate guides. Very intimate and personable. You can't leave bahia without exploring the history of the people and this tour does it all. Super interactive. Must do, do not pass this up!

5.00Our experience was great. Mestre was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us. He took some time to explain the history of Capoeira and all the details related to the outfits, instruments, and songs. After that part, we practiced basic moves and it was very fun and active.
