What To Expect
Cherchell
Check-out in the early morning from Algiers. Arrival an hour and a half later in Cherchell. Visit of the ancient city on the Mediterranean coast called Yol and then Caesarea of Mauretania, it was one of the most important cities of the coast of North Africa and capital of Mauretania Caesarea. Lunch of grilled fish (local speciality).
Ruines Romaines Tipaza
Tipasa presents a separate ruin: not everything has been cleared, and a large part of the city, explored by Stéphane Gsell in 1891, is still under sediment. In its current state, the remains form two large collections. The first is located outside the walls, at the current entrance to the city, on the right side of the road coming from Algiers, corresponding to a large necropolis and the Sainte-Salsa cathedral. The second is the archaeological park, located at the western exit of the modern city, which includes most of the monuments unearthed.

5.00A really exciting and interesting tour. Both the Roman Ruins of Tipaza and Mausoleum of Mauritania are a must-see when visiting this region of Algeria. The pick-up was nice and easy from our hotel in Algiers, and our guide Jasmine was friendly and a very safe driver. After visiting the ruins, we had lunch at Le Dauphin, Tipaza; the food was fresh and delicious and there were a lot of options to choose from. This tour was truly brilliant and included so much. Highly recommend!
Completely worth it. One of a kind experience.

5.00This was a great day out. We had a driver named Yazid and a tour guide named Nabil. Yazid took us to the Mausoleum, the plaza and museum at Cherchell, for lunch at Le Dauphin in Tipaza, and then to the ruins at the Tipaza. Yazid was an excellent, safe driver, picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. Nabil showed us around Cherchell and Tipaza. His explanations were fun, and he has a knack for picking out obscure historic details to point out (for example, where the Romans had their garum manufacturing area). We were lucky and the weather was perfect. Overall a great, memorable experience and a lot of really nice vacation photos. Oh, and the restaurant we went to for lunch was fantastic. We had 4 kinds of fresh fish, wolf fish, red millet, swordfish, and pandora. Yazid told us that the restaurant has a boat and some fishers in its employ, and that's how they source it all. It was obviously very fresh, and absolutely delicious.
