What To Expect

Huairou Huanghuacheng Great Wall

You will be picked up by private comfortable vehicle and English speaking tour guide at 8:00am or 13:00pm at the hotel lobby and driver around 2 hours to the Huanghuacheng Wall. You will enjoy the nice Mountain View along the wall. Once you reach the wall you first will walk a little bit slope road to the unrestored section of the wall. You will find that there are very few tourists and enjoy the tranquility and peace of the wall as well. You can easily spend around 2 hours or more here. By the end of tour you will walk down the Zhuangdaokou village and see the donkeys and fields and understand the rural life in the countryside. After that taking a lunch at the local Chinese restaurant and drive back to the hotel or airport

Amazing day! We had such a wonderful time hiking around the Great Wall all by ourselves. The lunch at the local restaurant was delicious, and Justin made the whole experience truly unforgettable!

We arrived at the base of the hill and had to hike up about 30-40 mins to the unfurnished part of the Great Wall. It was really an experience for my family. The tour guide (Justin) has been very helpful and friendly, sharing the history and story.

This place has unbeliavable views of the great wall, and it is not very busy with tourists, so we can enjoy the view in a quiet place. Our tour guide Jenny made it an even better experience, by sharing her historical knowledge through great english skills, and guiding us through the place. Definitely recommended. There is a short hike to get up there though, so might not be easy for some people.

My mum and I had a great day with Lucy touring the Forbidden city and Huanghuacheng section of the Great Wall. The section was absolutely fantastic very few tourists and steep fun climbs. Lucy was very pleasant and knowledgeable and even helped me practice my Chinese. Our driver was also absolutely perfect. Jenna helped me organize everything a few days in advance via WeChat. Ask for Lucy!

My wife and I enjoyed a Beijing Private Tour of the Huanghuancheng Section of the Great Wall. The section had very nice views and some nice climbing on this semi-restored section. Our personal guide was very knowledgeable of Chinese history and shared it freely with us. He hiked along side us the whole way and was very happy to take photos, etc. The tour was a one way with the driver meeting us on the other side of the mountain. The lunch after the tour was delicious! We very much enjoyed the personal attention and adaptability of Catherine Lu Tours. We had other tours the following week which were affected by rain. The happily made modifications as needed. I would definitely go with them again.
