Isla Taboga
Taboga island's name derives from the Indian word aboga ("many fish"). Located about 20 minutes from Panama City, it has great beaches to swim and snorkel, as well as docking facilities to step into the friendly local fisherman town. Once in Taboga, feel free to walk around town, visit its church (the second oldest one in the hemisphere), enjoy the local art and crafts, or relax by having lunch (We have optional additional catering packages). After lunch, choose between snorkeling, fishing, or cruising back to Panama City.
Panama Canal
You'll get to see firsthand the ship carriers in their cross from the Pacific side of the Panama Canal. While they cruise under America's bridge, you'll get to cruise right next to them, in the Canal's designated route.
Duration: 4 hours: Perfect for guests who want to explore the island or fish in its surrounding waters, but have limited time.

We had such a great time aboard the Viking with Captain Miguel. He’s knowledgeable, laid back, and professional, and so was his deckhand. They took us to an amazing fishing spot where we had plenty of catches, then brought us to an island where our fresh fish was prepared at a local restaurant. It was a delicious and unique experience. Taboga is absolutely beautiful, and I’d definitely recommend spending a day there if you're in Panama City.

It was an amazing trip with Alfredo and Joel. They were both fabulous captains and made the best ceviche I had ever tasted. Very friendly and although we did not grab many regrets, those who if we grabbed helped us the captains.

This was an awesome experience. Captain Miguel and Moises showed me and my family and my daughter’s in-laws a wonderful time. They were very attentive to us and thoroughly professional. You can tell they have considerable experience in this business and possess a great understanding of what customer enjoy. Personally, this was my first experience on a charter like this and I was very pleased with how willing they were to help me with any questions I had, whether it be about fishing, the boats in the harbor entering and exiting the canal, the local beaches and restaurants — they really know their stuff and it is obvious that they enjoy sharing their knowledge. I caught my very first fish in the ocean — a Mahi-mahi! The catch was so much fun. (Being from Minnesota, I am used to catching much smaller fare.) Moises then cleaned it, and when we landed on the island of Taboga, they took us to an island restaurant where the local chefs fixed it two different ways and fed us all. It was terrific. We then swam at a local beach before heading back. All in all, this was a very memorable experience and I highly recommend them.

Incredible day with my family in Taboga island. We were a family of 7 with 2 babies of 3 and 6 months and felt safe the entire time. After only one hour fishing we catch an amazing 200lb sailfish and after a couple more hours a Spanish mackerel. We were also lucky enough to see whales and dolphins. An experience we will never forget!!

It was a birthday surprise for my husband. Two families had a fantastic day on board the Viking due to the professional efforts of Jennifer at Gem charters. From my first inquiry to the day of our trip Jennifer was so helpful. Miguel and Pedro the captains were the best and made sure our families were comfortable informed and had a fun filled trip. We had a blast!!! Without any hesitation I highly recommend GEM charters

It was a perfect day for the perfect adventure! A restaurant on the island cooked the fish for lunch that we caught. We will definitely do it again next year.

We had such an amazing time with Miguel and Pedro! They were so attentive and informative. They took us fishing and to Taboga island for lunch. I would recommend the private yacht excursion to anyone! This was the best time in Panama waters. They tailored the trip to what we wanted. We tried the ceviche from the fish we caught.
