With our selection of local food treats you can check off a lot of things on your Icelandic food bucket list, and you sure won’t be disappointed with the quality of the restaurants we handpicked as our partners.
Our Reykjavik food walk is also good to get oriented in the old Reykjavik city center. All our guides are graduates from the Icelandic Tourist guide school but more importantly, they know how to entertain as well as to educate.
The only bad thing on this tour is the fermented shark, but hey, it's an adventure, and what does not kill you makes you stronger and cooler back home ;).
One of the best things about doing a food tour is getting a sense of the history of the country while eating something delicious & exciting. You will also get tips on Food, Fun & Drink for the rest of our stay in Reykjavik so perfect as one of the first stops while in Reykjavik.
We do of course accommodate dietary restrictions & allergies but traditional Icelandic food is meat, fish, and dairy.

The venues were excellent from both the point of history and ambiance. The food was excellent and representative of all that Iceland has to offer. Oli, our guide, was very personable and informative. We enjoyed hearing about Iceland and his experiences with food growing up in the country. I highly recommend this tour early in a visit to Iceland.

This was an amazing experience!! Our tour guide was Aussie - not sure of spelling - but he took us to so many amazing places! We learned some history of Iceland but then visited a bakery, a hotdog stand, a candy/souvenir store, a restaurant for lunch and also an ice cream shop to end our day. It was so wonderful!!! We loved all of the food and our guide was the best! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who would like to sample the best of Iceland!

We had a great time with Bo as he walked us through Reykjavík sampling traditional foods and sharing historical and cultural stories about Reykjavik and Iceland. Bo made sure the various venues knew it was my wife’s birthday making the tour that much more special. We would definitely recommend the private tour with Bo.

Angar (forgive me if I’ve misspelled your name) was a fabulous and most knowledgeable tour guide for our food tasting experience here in Reykjavík Iceland. His lifelong experience of living in Iceland, as well as being able to share a family history and facts about the country made our food tasting experience all the better! He is sincerely, a nice person, and it was wonderful to be able to sit down and enjoy an evening of good food with a very nice individual who is very attentive to everyone’s needs. Thank you for a great time!

Our food tour was a lot of fun. You get to try different Icelandic dishes (seafood stews with sourdough bread, Icelandic appetizers, Icelandic sweets, even fermented shark!) and get a good history lesson on the country as well. The portions are generous and you will definitely be full after this tour. We ended the tour with a drink (non-alcoholic versions available too) at a local pub. Einar was a wonderful guide. He's friendly, very knowledgeable, and accommodating. I recommend this tour. If you go, do take his advice when eating the fermented shark, you will be glad you did!

What a tour! Einar was an outstanding guide, giving us the background on the food we ate, as well as the neighborhoods we traversed. We definitely tried food that we otherwise wouldn’t have, and that is what makes these tours special. Thank you Einar, and rock on!

We booked a private Reykjavik food tour with guide Christina and had a deeply upsetting experience. Not only was her English poor and engagement with the children non-existent, but she also loudly voiced extreme political views. Wearing propaganda symbols and making openly antisemitic statements during what should have been a fun family experience left us feeling unsafe on our trip with children. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
