Tailored amazing Franshhoek experience

5.00John actually catered a perfect tour to suit our needs. We didn't want too early a start but also had to be at Cape Town Airport by 4.30pm, so he collected us from our hotel, with our luggage and, when the tour was over dropped us off at the airport, with plenty of time to spare. The tour itself was perfect. John had asked, in advance what kind of wines we liked and so tailored the day to suit our tastes with a little bit of experimentation as well. The car was extremely comfortable and fitted us and our luggage comfortably. John's knowledge was exceptional and delivered in a really lovely relaxed way. We visited two wineries and a fab lunch in between. All three venues were unique and special in different ways....hard not to bring loads home! We truly experienced the Franchhoek region and learned a lot about its history and methodoligies. A very special memory, would highly recommend.....will be trying out the horse riding next time!

5.00This was one of the best wine tours I’ve ever taken. Wet knowledgeable and excellent choices in vineyards and lunch. It was nice to have a local guide with such extensive knowledge of wine and the local area take you through. We went on a 42 degree day and the van was well air conditioned and all of the stops had cool portions to sit in or the breezy outside. Highly recommend.

5.00I did a Private Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl Wine Tour with John on the 12th of December, and it was an exceptional experience. Both of us are sommeliers, and John’s level of knowledge truly stood out. His understanding of wine, production techniques, terroir, and the broader Cape Winelands region was impressive and clearly well-founded. The conversations were insightful and engaging, and the tastings were elevated by the depth of information he shared. The service throughout the day was excellent — professional, well-organized, and smoothly executed. The pace was relaxed, never rushed, and perfectly suited to a private tour, allowing time to properly appreciate each estate and wine. For anyone seeking a high-quality, serious wine tour guided by someone with genuine expertise and professionalism, this tour with John is an excellent choice. A memorable and rewarding day in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl.

5.00Yesterday we did a full day wine tour with our guide Martin through Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and the day was just perfect. We were picked up by Martin at our accommodation and went straight to the first winery. Here we were even allowed to see (thanks to Martin) the wine cellar, which was very exciting. Afterwards we tasted a sparkling wine and three wines. So we continued to the next winery, lunch and the last winery. Everything was really well organized, Martin always provided us with additional information about the wine, the region and the history of South Africa. All in all, our expectations were exceeded and we would like to thank Martin and John for making all this possible at short notice!

5.00Our group had an unforgettable, fantastic day with Martin. Martin picked us up at our hotel on time at 9am. We visited three very beautiful wine regions and wineries. Martin explained a lot about the different wines, but also a lot of interesting things about African history and life around Cape Town. 5.00My wife and I had a fantastic day with Martin who was very knowledgeable about all things wine and South African history. Martin picked us up at our hotel at 9am sharp and dropped us back just after 5pm. We hit three different wine regions which gave us a great feel of different wines and experiences. Martin was a gent throughout, we did not feel rushed at any point during our tastings and we would definitely recommend Martin to our friends and family when they come to visit. Thanks Martin again

5.00This tour was absolutely amazing! John was the epitome of hospitality, knowledge, professionalism, friendliness, patience and passion! His knowledge of wines, history, and the Cape region in general made for a spectacular day. My husband and brother-in-law, both from the Cape, felt as though they learned some things as well and were doubly impressed by his passion for the area. We were all impressed by the fantastic timing and smoothness of the tour and the excellent wine! We highly recommend booking this company (and I might add, I rarely leave reviews though I rely on them often when traveling so decided I needed to relay what an amazing day this was for future researchers/travelers)! Enjoy!!

5.00John arranged a private tour of three of the Cape's top wine estates with a visit to a fourth for lunch. His knowledge and expertise were amazing, but more than that we greatly enjoyed his company and companionship in tasting a series of first-class wines and learning more about the Cape's wine heritage and South Africa. We are already looking forward to repeating the experience on our next visit to the Cape.
