• Worst tour/excursion ever !!!

  The experience did not meet our expectations. The guide did not know where to pick us up or at what time. Even though he had sent us a confirmation, we had to repeat several times that he was supposed to pick us up at 8:00 am at the cruise port. He arrived 45 minutes late. When he finally arrived, the vehicle was not suitable for the comfort of four adults on a 10–12 hour tour. Two children’s seats were still installed in the car, and we had to ask him to remove them and put them in the trunk just to make the space minimally usable. We had no room to stretch our legs. It was clearly the wrong choice of vehicle. He tried to justify this but we were not satisfied with his explanations. We were supposed to have water in the vehicle, but there wasn't any. In addition, he was not a certified guide but an IT consultant doing tours in the meantime. He had no information about the city or the sites during the tour. He even asked us, before starting, what we wanted to see and do that day, he had absolutely no idea what the tour was supposed to include. Here is what we were supposed to see but did not: The Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps, The Razorback, Loch Ard Gorge, Port Campbell National Park, Great Otway National Park, and Kennett River Nature Walk. Instead of Kennett River, we were taken to Wildlife Wonders, where we had to pay an additional $60 each. We also missed Teddy’s Lookout. The driver-guide had no idea where to go at any point. He made us waste an enormous amount of time—nearly five hours just to reach Wildlife Wonders. We were then told that reaching the Twelve Apostles would require another two hours, meaning we would not return to the ship before 10 p.m. As a result, we had no choice but to give up and head back to the port without seeing the main attractions of the tour. To make matters worse, on the way back to the port, he went to the wrong pier and was about to drop us off nearly one mile away from our ship because he was not at the right location. This confirmed once again that he did not know where he was going. Given such a poor experience and a completely wasted travel day, we requested compensation from Viator, but this was refused. The company chose to believe the tour guide rather than its regular customers.
