We had an amazing experience hiking the Pitons and visiting the mud baths in St. Lucia, and our guides, Joel and Placid, made the day even more special. They were punctual, friendly, and extremely professional. While they didn’t hike with us, they ensured we were connected with our official hike guide and waited patiently for us during the entire trek. After the hike, they took us to the mud baths and walked us through the whole process, making it really fun and stress-free. They also took tons of great photos of us throughout the day—including at a beautiful lookout point with the Pitons in the background—and even treated us to some delicious rum punch. Joel and Placid went above and beyond to make our day smooth, memorable, and fun. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone visiting St. Lucia!

My husband and hiked Gros Piton and Placide was our driver/tour guide for everything but the actual hike. Let me start by saying I’m so well versed in the history of St. Lucia all due to Placide. His knowledge of this wonderful island is second to none. His vehicle was very clean, all seatbelts worked and he drove us with care! He was very accommodating and even stop and took pictures for us! Last but certainly not least his rum punch was DELICIOUS!!!!!he had an array of beverages but the rum punch was top notch.

From the moment I booked, Rumie tours were wonderful about communication through WhatsApp and checking in to make sure that pick up was a breeze. Our resort was on the north side of the island and so pickup was a 6 am! Despite the early start of the day we had a great time even on the way down to Gros Piton. The driver put at as ease as he skillfully navigated through the precarious twists and turns of the island roads while sharing information and pointing out key spots we passed along the way. I am so thankful for an early start time for the hike as this is a very difficult one! Possibly the most difficult I have ever done. We made the trek up and down somewhere between 4 and 5 hours. We were paired with absolutely wonderful guides that cheered us on, and help navigate some of the most difficult climbing portions. When they tell you to bring 2L of water and snacks this is an absolute must. There is a man who set up shop at the summit for those in dire need but just don’t be upset by the $5 price for water if you didn’t come prepared. The views were stunning and totally worth the pain felt days afterwards. I also suspect the quick trip to the mud baths helped immensely. If you are adventurous this tour is a must!

We learned about this relatively new Tour Company - Rumie Tours - while having dinner at the @HiltonHarborClub. Rumie, the owner, called to ask what type of tour we were interested in and helped curate a private day tour. Placid, our tour guide/driver, was amazing!! He was friendly, personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with! Our private tour included the following: pick up at our hotel, drive thorough and photo stops at Castries, Marigot Bay, the fishing villages of Anse La Ray and Canaries, different photo stops of the Pitons, then into Soufriere for a stop in the cauldron of the volcano and a soak in the sulphur springs accompanied by a mud bath (it sounds a bit scary but was such a fun activity!!). We concluded the tour with a refreshing "shower" under the beautiful Toraille waterfall!! During the tour, Placid had beverages available to us (water, beer & homemade rum punch) and explained about St. Lucia's history of being a colony of the French and British many times over (7x each!!) before gaining its independence in 1979. At each stop, Placid stayed with us to ensure that we got in with no issues and also doubled as the world's best photographer!! We will definitely contact Rumie Tours again for future tours and adventures when in St. Lucia 🇱🇨!!
