Walvis Bay
Walvis Bay is a port town on the coast of Namibia. Sheltered by the Pelican Point sand spit, its tidal lagoon is home to abundant birdlife including flamingos, pelicans and Damara terns. The harbor is busy with fishing boats and ships. Dolphins, whales and Cape fur seals inhabit the Atlantic waters around the Pelican Point Lighthouse. East of the bay, coastal sand dunes like Dune 7 mark the start of the Namib Desert.
Swakopmund
Swakopmund is a German settlement on the coast of Namibia from the 1900's, just before the first world war. Situated 30km north of Walvis Bay in the mouth of the Swakop river. Light-heartedly referred to as "Little Germany" by many travelers, the building style in the old part of town is destinctly German. On your private tour you will see the majestic dune belt, and with a short visit to Dune 7 you can touch and see the sand up close. Once in Swakopmund, there is no set route or tour, as you have a wide variety of things to do. On every tour agenda is the Railway platform that has been restored into a high end hotel now. From there there are many options, like the Steam Tractor "Martin Luther", the Swakopmund museum at the lighthouse, or the Krystall Gellerie, home of the largest quartz crystal. There are also many old buildings to view, but if this is not your kind of thing, and you prefer to walk in between the small streets to shop and explore, this will be accommodated. If you want to sit in a coffee shop and rest for a while, this too, will be done. Just tell your guide what you have in mind for Swakopmund, and it will be done. Please remember that if you want to buy any curios in Swakopmund that you will need a copy of your passport. You will have some free shopping time and a city tour

Tour guide did not show up. Tour guide did not answer phone calls Tour guide did not return emails TOUR guide made no effort to make contact. Just took the money and ran. Worst after sales care I have ever experienced I hope you enjoy my money because you won't be getting any more bookings. My friends on Social Media & Cruise Critic will all be told of your Company's bad service and very poor ethics.

Our guides, Tuyeni and Mathew from Explorer Tours took us on an amazing journey. After seeing the flamingoes, they brought us away from the buses and tourists and into the culture. We went to Swakopmund and saw all quaint German buildings, but more meaningful was the visit to the DRC informal housing settlement. We met the most generous, kind and lovely people. They opened their homes to us and made us a traditional meal. It was fantastic. A group of singers came and performed the most beautiful and moving music. Our guides helped us understand the different tribes, their language and customs, the country’s history and provided context for what we were seeing. If you are truly interested in experiencing Namibia and the people who live there, this is highly recommended. You will be forever changed.

We first went along the Walvis Bay promenade to see the flamingoes and pelicans, and then on to the pink salt lagoons near the salt processing factory. We then went out to Dune 7, Namibia's tallest sand dune, and had a good half hour to climb up it (or some of it). The dunes then gave way to the desert, and we saw the welwitschia plants, and heard about how you could survive in the desert using certain plants. We then drove around the Swakopmund township, visited a day nursery and a food kitchen and learned about township life. We then went into Swakopmund town, and had about 90 minutes to look around this beautiful old town. Altogether a great day out.

We booked an private Tour for 4 and in german language. What we get was an Tour with additional 2 Guest in our car and 2 in an other car. The Tour language was in english and not in german. On every stop the guide Mode to the other car and explain the other couple about the tour. This was not satisfied and not what we booked. We pay an higher price for an private Tour for 4 and travel in Total by 8 Persons.
