You will have an opportunity to spot big mammals and a variety of wild animals such as elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, gazelle, impala, baboon, oribi, and Burch ell’s zebra, topis, bush back, leopard, bushbuck and the recently re-introduced Lions and Rhinos in the park. You will also see crocodiles and hippos, together with a large concentration of birdlife, with over 525 identified species. Making it a birding paradise to the bird watchers. The park is also known to have African big five animals; Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and African buffalo. Akagera game viewing drive takes about 5-6 hours in the park. You will enjoy your packed lunch at the picnic area, exit the park in the late afternoon and drive back to Kigali.

Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park is an amazing wildlife reserve located in Rwanda. It's home to a variety of animals, including lions, elephants, rhinos, and hippos. The park also features a stunning landscape with rolling hills, lush vegetation, and panoramic views of the savannah. They will also see a variety of wildlife, like the Burchell's zebra, giraffes, antelopes, impala, topi, Sitatunga, jackals, and hyenas, among others. Sighting the Big Five in Akagera National Park marks one of the highlights of any Rwanda safari in the country.
