5.00The castle is a 45 minute drive (16km) from the old part of Prague. Our guide was also our driver and used the journey as an opportunity to talk through the history of Prague and the link to Kind Charles IV's Gothic castle at Karlstejn which was the home to the the Bohemian Crown Jewels and a large collection of holy relics. It is a hugely impressive structure, accessed through a steep road and path from a car park which is out of site of the castle. The caste is one of the most famous and frequently visited locations in the Czech Republic.

5.00Our guide, Peter, was very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He was very flexible and accommodating to our desires to see several sites besides the castle. He was a fountain of knowledge about Prague and the region. He seemed to know the best spots to get great pictures and gave us a great recommendation for an authentic Chech lunch at the end of our tour.
