The museum is characterized by an extensive collection of works by Vincent van Gogh.

The museum has a world-famous collection of paintings and drawings by the artist Vincent van Gogh. In addition, there is a rich collection of modern and contemporary art, including more than 400 works (international avant-garde from the 1960s to the present) from the former Visser collection, including works by Anselm Kiefer, Richard Long and Ellsworth Kelly.
