Hiking Liamuiga Volcano was an important highlight of my visit to St. Kitts. This hiking itself is a great experience, passing through some of the most lush, picturesque forest of a Caribbean island. it stays in one of the top 5s :-). I thoroughly enjoyed this gorgeous forest, the challenges that came with this hike (it is quite a scramble and difficult climb at places). Even if I didn't achieve a fully open view at the top, the whole experience was rewarding. Janeel was fully enaged with information and his brother DJ complemented the guiding. Jannel was constantly in touch even before my hike started, right after the booking was done. Truely professional!. Additionally because I did the hike quickly, he also showed me few interesting extra sights of St Kitss that made for a full day activity. He knows a secret Vegetarian restaurant serving delicious food too! Highly recommened!

This is an extremely difficult hike. 4 of our 11 person group had to stop, and I should have. This is way more than just a hike - there is scaling/climbing and we barely made it back in time to get our cruise. Don’t do this unless you are in great shape and have some climbing experience. That said, it’s a great adventure if you are up for it. The crew did a good job of accommodating our members who had to turn back.

Had a great day with Janeel, Djae & Wasim. I went out of season but Janeel kindly organised the hike especially for me.Djae was my guide we set off the climb at 10.00 on a lovely sunny day, Although we took our time we reached the top just after 12.05 it was spectacular scenery. Looking across the crater we could see the clouds coming over which was the signal for us to head down. Well it rained, heavily but we got down safely thanks to Djae. The round trip took 4 hours and 3 minutes. I would describe it as quite a challenge but well worth persisting over some difficult terrain in parts. I can now say I’ve had the full rain forest experience. Thanks again to Janeel and his team. What a good day . I recommend you wear hiking boots because the ground is made up of rocky surfaces and tree roots which become slippery, bring lots of water and carry a damp cloth to wipe your face. If you like a challenge then this one is for you. Highlight of my holiday. Thanks Guys.

We stayed at a resort on the dry scrubland side of St Kitts. We chose this excursion to immersively experience the tropical forests on the other side of the island (and the highest point is always cool!) Our guide Janeel regularly communicated with us his location and time of arrival for our hotel pick up, including reminders of what to bring and how to prepare for our day ahead. Both en route and on the hike/climb, Janeel accommodates the pace of his guests whether highly fit or weekend warriors. It helps to be fit and always honest about any health conditions you may have. We are in our 50s and made the round trip from trail head to trail summit in 5 hours. He has intimate knowledge of how to navigate and tackle all aspects of the trail most efficiently and especially safely. If you don’t need any help, sure, no problem! I personally have some trouble with exposed heights or perhaps steeper rock sections and told Janeel I would be satisfied to make it as far as we could as long as we could immerse in the forest, learn about flora and fauna and perhaps identify a few native bird species. To be honest, on most of my climb hiking trips I usually make it almost to the top and elect to turn around. This time I made it ALL the way! Rewarded by both a stunning view into the caldera and out to the ocean! Incidentally we learned about endemic trees, plants and animals and I was able to positively identify up close a Lesser Antillean flycatcher, a scaly breasted thrasher and an American kestrel. (We saw vervet monkeys too). Personal comment: even if you are a skilled experienced hiker, take note that unlike in the United States there is no Parks management system (National or State Rangers) in St Kitts nor EMS to lift one off the mountain if in extremis. Finally, back at the trailhead, we were provided with clean water, soap and bucket to wash off (muddy scrambling hike!) and a privacy screen in the van to change into dry clothes, if desired. We stopped at a local restaurant to pick up hot meals (included) which we elected to take back to the hotel. Thank you, Janeel, you have many guests, but we WILL remember you. St Kitts forever!

Incredible adventure, epic hike through lush forest. Peaceful serenity surrounded us only broken by the occasional monkeys swinging high above our heads. The strenuous hike was well worth it when met with the beautiful views looking across the top of the volcano and down into the crater. Full service tour with private transportation and guides- shout out to Djae and Uncle Shane for an excellent experience

An epic hike through lush forest all the way to the top of the volcano. Incredibly peaceful with the occasional rustling of leaves as monkeys swung from tree to tree high above us. Our guide Djae was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helped us navigate some challenging terrain at times. The journey to the top was well worth all the effort as the views were stunning and serene. Highly recommend this tour when you’re visiting St. Kitts! A full service tour, picking you up from your lodging, providing a light breakfast, water and laughs en route to the Volcano as well as lunch and ride back after the hike. Shout out to Uncle Shane for the fun and safe transportation.

An awesome trip back to the top of Mt. Liamuiga Volcano on St. Kitts after my last visit 40 years ago and now with my children. It didn’t disappoint me with the awesome views and experiencing the rainforest first hand. Our guides Janeel and Jacquan were amazing telling us about the mountain and forest the entire way while making sure we completed the treck safely….one that is a challenging one, but so worth it!

Djae was my incredible guide on an amazing and challenging trek up Mount Liamuiga. I felt very comfortable on the climb and Djae made the adventure more fun with some history and always a helping hand on tougher areas of the mountain. The views are breathtaking and this is a definite must do in St Kitts!
