What To Expect
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Santiago and drive for about an hour and a half toward El Manzano sector, located at the beginning of the Maipo Valley, at the south-east side of the city. As you set out on the trek, you'll find yourself surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, with the towering peaks of the El Manzano range rising up all sides. As you make your way through the winding paths, you will come across a variety of natural formations, including high limestone cliffs and lush evergreen forests that hide down their steep walls. As you near the caves themselves, the landscape becomes even more otherworldly with its narrow passageways and sculptural rock formations. We will enjoy a delicious lunch while contemplating the Andean scenery from inside one of these uncounted caves, formed by the action of water, wind and ice over the years.

5.00Nicolas was an amazing guide. The communication from the start was amazing. The day went so smooth. He picked me up early at the hotel, explained all about the areas we were driving through. The 1 hour drive felt like 15 mins... We started the hike through a private farm, parked the car right beside a suspension bridge. What a way to start a wonderful hike. We winded our way for about 2km through some farms seeing llamas, goats and horses. Then we started our assent. For the next 3km it was a moderate incline to the ridge, all the time Nicolas was teaching about the flora and fauna. We reached the ridge after an hour with an incredible view of the valley below. We stopped for a quick drink and snack and continued on. The climb became a bit more challenging, some scrambling involved but nothing impossible. After 1.5 hours we reached the caves... incredible views, breath taking views. We sat in a cave and had a delicious lunch,,,provided by Nicolas of course. We watched the condors soaring in the sky with the back drop of snow covered mountains...wow We then returned back to the start taking about 2 hours to decend... What an amazing day

5.00My brother and I had a great day with Nicolas hiking the mountains. He was very knowledgeable about the plants and local area. We enjoyed the beautiful mountains and animals. We luckily had perfect weather after a week of rain and Nicolas was able to get us in for a tour. Nicolas covered transportation and food for a seamless experience. It was a memorable experience that I would recommend!

5.00It was a wonderful day - every detail taken care of - transport and wonderful food and very easy to organise. It was great to get out of the city and enjoy the peaceful, beautiful mountains and see the condors around us. We climbed above the clouds and had wonderful views even on a cloudy day. Nicolas taught us a lot about the plants and local area. We didn't see anyone else the whole day.
