Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

We had a wonderful day trip with our guide Peter. He planned our itinerary well to see many things and unique stops for coffee, lunch, and dessert. He was very sociable and informative, which made for a great day. Would highly recommend!

We had a Wonderful day, in Saigon, with a very professional driver, and I must say a Wonderful and Beautiful young lady tour guide called Tham, she went beyond and above, her duty to tell us about her homeland and explain all the history, and when we stopped at certain sites , she was with us all the time helping and explaining, She really made our visit to Vietnam special and would recommend her to anyone.

Fantastic trip! We got picked up at 8am at the international cruise port and driven to Ho Chi Minh City. Driver Tu was excellent in navigating the busy traffic. He was always ready to pick us up at every stop. Anna was fantastic. We started communicating on WhatsApp before the trip. She provided us with history of locations, explained Vietnamese culture, took us to the post office, flower market, clothes market, embroidery art etc. She taught us how to cross busy roads. The egg and salted coffee was delicious! She took lots of photos of our family with our phones. We were dropped off at the ship port just after 4pm and could board peacefully without rushing. Thank you for a great day!

Ms Emmie was the BEST personal and professional tour guide in Saigon! She picked us up at the port on time and returned an hour early. She took us to the important historical sights related to the American-Vietnam War as well as cultural sights like the book street, central post office and flower market. Plus a a wonderful hole-in-the-wall local restaurant and coffee shop! We highly recommend Ms. Emmie for all of your tour needs in Ho Chi Minh City! We already miss you Emmie!

Outstanding tour. Emmie is excellent tour guide who was patient with us and showed us major sites, great local Michelin restaurant, and made adjustments to schedule so my husband could get massage and I could shop. Emmie became our friend. She carried our bags and held my hand to cross streets. Driver took short cut to get us back quickly. Loved the tour.

Traveled with my family who consisted of 4 seniors. Had a fantastic guide with us, Liam and the driver who made the experience all the much more memorable. Very patient with seniors and had a good command of English so communication was easy. We had a private tour hence we could tweak our itinerary to our preference. Good recommendations from Liam for food and coffee. Special shout out to Liam again for going out of the way taking care of my family and ensuring everyone had a really good time and experience. Having a private driver with a comfortable van made it much easier going around in the HCM heat. Ask for Liam if you're booking with this travel agency.

Our tour guide was Liam. He was absolutely outstanding from the start. Told us he would be outside port gate of our ship to meet us with a sign. He spoke almost perfect English. He had a car and driver. He told us his plan for the day and asked did we have any special requests. His plan was great. We saw the Independence palace,Jade Emperor Pagoda, central Post office, Binh Tay Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, War Remnants Museum, passed by the opera house and took a walk through the center which had numerous steel/wire statues depicting the history of the country. We also visited the lacquer workshop which had stunning products. We found excellent coffee to purchase to take home. We also had a great lunch- pho and even a coffee break in the afternoon. We ended the day with a trip to the 87th floor of the tallest building in HoChiMinh city. During the course of the day, Liam told us the country’s and city’s history. He filled us in on the importance and celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam. Liam went way beyond our expectations in describing and explaining events, history, and the historical sites in HoChiMinh city. We wish we could have had another day with Liam. Furthermore, he had the driver meet us and take us to the next adventure- insuring our comfort zone.

OMG! We had the best time! Sang is enthusiastic and knowledgeable! Even with our ship delaying disembarkation, Sang made sure we saw everything listed, and got us back in time to get back on our ship without rushing. Ho Chi Minh is such a fabulous city, we easily could have spent a couple more days there. Thank you, Sang for making our tour so memorable!
