What To Expect
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
One day before the tour, your guide will talk over with you about the departure time. Then in the morning, you will be picked up at the hotel on time and led to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda to see cute pandas.
Leshan Giant Buddha
Afterwards, transfer you to Leshan Giant Buddha by 2-hour drive. It is one of the largest stone Maitreya Buddhas in sitting gesture in the world. Your guide will lead you to take the boat to appreciate the majestic panorama of Giant Buddha on Min River. Then get off the boat and watch it in a close distance on foot. If you still have enough time and your energy is permitted, you can also climb the mountain side and tour around the Buddha for sightseeing from different perspectives. When the tour is end, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.

5.00Claire was very flexible and taught us a lot about Chengdu, pandas and the Leshan Buddha. We really enjoyed the tea house she brought us to with friends. A very thoughtful touch was her welcome panda headbands arranging our breakfast-to-go for our early departing flight!

5.00Our guide, Claire, was informative and punctual. We enjoyed tea at a teahouse like to locals. The pandas did not disappoint and Claire outlined the optimal time and exhibits for great variety. We then traveled to the Leshan Buddha, which was a lovely walk. Thanks for a memorable experience.

5.00We took a day tour with our guide Connie. You're a super guide, really great. He speaks great English we all understood and then he showed us everything in detail even though our tour lasted longer than expected. In the end he even booked us a restaurant and drove us there to get us a nice table and, exceptionally, a small private show of local dances. We all loved Connie, with a kindness and expertise she showed us the big budda to her Shane and then we stayed at the ancient city Huanglongxi. Simply FANTASTIC!

5.00Pandas are so cute, but best not to go in July/Aug since really hot, humid and crowded. Leshan Buddha was really interesting. 2 1/2 hr drive to get there, but was worth it. Was too hot to climb the 300 stairs to get to the base, so we did the boat ride which gives you almost same view. My tour guide Joy was so sweet, helpful, and had excellent English. Took me to one of the best meals of my trip. Gave me several little panda themed gifts. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00Travel China Guide were excellent from the initial booking arrangements (Moon) through to the tour. Our guide Linney is a really lovely person, very knowledgeable (answered every question, and we asked lots!) and has perfect English. Both the panda base and Leshan exceeded our expectations. The driver was very careful and his vehicle was clean and spacious. Thank you for a great day!

5.00Great tour. Lovely to see the pandas in the morning and view the Buddha in the afternoon. Our guild Elton was great. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and nice to be around. Our driver Mr. Zhuang had a very nice car and we got to travel in luxury. Overall great experience.
