We offer the wine enthusiast an elevated wine touring experience with a WSET3 qualified guide. Your tour can be customized but will normally include visits to four of the most famous Martinborough wineries where you will not simply taste wine but will learn about their history and wine-making philosophy with qualified staff, tasting some of the flagship wines and visiting some of the winery facilities such as the barrel room where you may taste wines in barrel. Lunch will be included, usually at one of the wineries. We will make contact with you at least one week before your tour where booking time allows to understand your wine interests and customize the tour accordingly.

I had a wonderful time on this private winery tour. From beginning to end, everything was well organized and enjoyable. John, my guide, was very knowledgeable about the Martinborough region and about wines in general. I learned a lot about New Zealand’s wine varietals, the local vineyards, and what makes this area unique. What I appreciated most was John’s friendly and flexible approach. The tour felt relaxed and personalized, and I never felt rushed at any of the stops. The pacing was just right, allowing plenty of time to enjoy each tasting and take in the scenery. The combination of expert insights, a welcoming atmosphere, and the beautiful surroundings made this experience truly memorable. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Martinborough who wants an engaging and enjoyable introduction to the region’s wines.

A standout experience—from vineyard to palate! We had a fabulous time on a private wine tour with John from Wineinsights—definitely one of the highlights of Martinborough. We visited a number of wineries and tasted a wide range of fantastic local wines. Each place has its own unique vibe. Lunch was superb—local produce, great wine, and in a beautiful setting at Poppies. A really nice touch to the day was having a chat with some of the winemakers behind the scenes. The whole experience felt personal and thoughtfully put together. If you're into wine (or even just curious about it), this tour is 100% worth it. John knows his stuff. We left with a deeper appreciation of what goes into making a great bottle of wine. Highly recommend!
This opened my eyes and palate to the beauty of Martinborough wines.

We visited four of Martinborough vineyards, with tastings at each, and lunch at one. Each tasting was totally different in terms of varietals, setting and ambience, but came together as a single cohesive insight into the beauty of the Martinborough region. This was complemented with John’s own expertise in wine, to guide us, and open our eyes to the true Martinborough. Highly recommended if you enjoy wine, and want a visit to remember.

Wow. What a fabulous day! Beautiful weather, beautiful wine and a great host. We toured several Vineyards, with lunch in between. WineInsights did a fabulous job of arranging an exclusive tour that included going behind the scenes and seeing the process of making wine as well as of course tasting award winning wines. Highly recommended!
