5.00This all day tour of Jeju Island, to include meeting a renowned Haenyeo, was absolutely wonderful. Our Tour Guide Angella is a superb representative of her country and her home of Jeju. Knowledgeable, gracious and eager to ensure we didn’t miss out on anything we wanted to see or do during our day is so appreciated. We felt instantly at home with Angella and kept her busy answering all kinds of questions about life in Jeju, Korean culture and traditions in general. Our meeting with a Haenyeo was a life making memory. We spent about an hour with our lady sea diver, to include watching her make several dives. We were encouraged to ask a questions about her life and the sea diving tradition. It was only because of Angella, I’m sure, that we had such a forthcoming, friendly and welcoming encounter. After lunch at a small cafe right on the beach where the Haenyeo sell their catch - an authentic experience with Sea Urchin Noodles for me and Abalone Porridge for my husband - Angella made a small detour to ensure I visited a gift shop that sold Haenyeo themed specific gifts. I so much appreciated that! She also volunteered to drop us off at the airport rather than our hotel knowing we had a flight to catch to Busan later in the afternoon. That sure did save us time and effort (we had our luggage with us the entire day in the trunk / boot of Angella’s car)! We can’t thank Angella enough for a fantastic day that we will remember with fondness for many years to come! Thank you Angella!
