5.00Having experienced a private tour in Buenos Aires we decided that this type of tour was ideal for us and booked in advance. We were met at the port entrance by Eric and our driver Jose. The car was clean, comfortable and spacious. I sat in the front and my wife in the back with Eric. This worked well as it meant that both of us could clearly hear Eric’s commentary. His English was perfect and he was always ensuring that we were comfortable and that we were seeing what we hoped for. The full itinerary was completed and Jose gave a very comfortable ride. We were glad that we had taken the tour, the commentary was informative without being too much. My recommendation is that when in Montevideo and want to see the popular sights in comfort then this one is for you.

3.00The driver Jorge was very kind, but he didn’t really speak English. This was OK because I speak enough Spanish, but I thought we paid for a proper guide, and that’s not what we got. He knew the main stops, but we didn’t really get that much information about the locations that we travel to.

1.00Tour guide can’t speak proper English. He didn’t explain much about Montevideo, nor the history etc. Just like a hop on hop off bus… only bring us to places for photos, kind of meaningless. Tour guide can’t stop talking (loudly)to driver, in Spanish which we couldn’t understand. He will also talks to sellers from street shops, on the phone etc. Just not (6 of) us. Very very bad experience. First time having such tour. Not sure why other people gave such a good review. Unless it’s different tour guide and different driver.
