Charlotte Amalie
Charlotte Amalie, the capital and largest city of the U.S. Virgin Islands, situated on St. Thomas was founded in 1666 as Taphus, it was renamed in 1691 after Danish queen Charlotte Amalie. The city boasts a deep-water harbor that was historically a pirate haven and is now a major cruise ship port, receiving over 1.5 million passengers annually. Historically, the area was inhabited by Caribs, Arawaks, Ciboney and Taíno native peoples before Columbus arrived in 1493. The city features Danish colonial architecture and landmarks such as St. Thomas Synagogue, Frederick Lutheran Church, Blackbeard's Castle, Bluebeards Castle and Fort Christian. A copy of the Liberty Bell and freed slave blowing a conch shell are in Emancipation Park, which is both a source of national pride and a tourist attraction.
Brewer's Bay
Brewers Bay - Brewers Bay is a gem hidden in plain sight. Its sun-drenched shore is presided over by lush green hills on the right, and the University of the Virgin Islands campus on the left. It’s one of the calmest beaches on St. Thomas and the water is clear as crystal. It is a favorite for Green Sea Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. The seafloor is mostly sand, and it deepens gradually providing an easy sloped entry. The combination of clarity, calmness and a sandy bottom make it great for wading and swimming.

If you are looking for a “get away from the crowds day”, Hidden Beach Tour with Tropic Sun is a great option. In an open air jeep, driver Scott gave us options for the type of day we were looking for. We chose beaches that required a little hiking to get to and there would be minimal crowds. We experienced a fantastic day visiting 3 beaches of which we were the only ones on the beach. Some downhill/uphill hiking was required, and that added to the adventure. Scott also showed us several beautiful island viewpoints. All in all, a great day. Highly recommend Scott and this tour.

Didn't get off to a good start as our guide was 45min late picking us up. After that initial upset, we enjoyed a scenic tour round the Island to the non-tourist hot-spots. Neljeberg beach was a particular highlight. Not often you get a picturesque Caribbean beach all to yourself. The high mountain viewing station provided banana daiquiri relief and we had a tasty meal at Hull Bay. Our guide was knowledgeable and cared deeply about the local environment.

Scott was the best! It was so fun to travel the island with a knowledgeable local. We went to all the cool spots - not crowded.

We decided on a private excursion instead of ship excursion because they are overly crowded. Scott picked us up and took us all around the island including a beautiful hidden beach. He was very chill. Very relaxing half day.

Most relaxing and enjoyable part of our trip! We made it to all the major highlights BEFORE the large crowds. Operator was super informative and made this day our best day of the vacation. Highly recommend this jeep tour!

Great trip around St Thomas ending up with rum punch on the beach.... After a little confusion on the pick up point (there are two cruise docks in St Thomas) which was easily resolved, Scott then took us all over the island with nice commentary and insight into both history and current views. Stops for pictures, ice cream, a little shopping and uncrowded beach walks ended with beach chairs, mats, snorkel gear, floaty bits and water as well as the rum punch. First port day of our cruise and excellent value and good fun as well, thoroughly recommended.

We loved this tour! This excursion was one of the best things that we did while on our trip to St. Thomas! I cannot recommend it enough! It was so worth it, especially if you don’t have a rental car/don’t want to drive on the island! Scott took us everywhere we wanted and recommended us great spots based on what we wanted to see! The tour was super laidback and nice! Didn’t feel rushed at all! It’s a great way to see multiple places in just a few hours, and Scott took us to a beach we would’ve never gotten to go to if we hadn’t booked the tour! We also loved the rum punch that was included! This tour was fun with friends but it’s perfect for any type of group!! The only thing that we wish was that the tour was another hour or so longer! Seeing the island with the open air jeep was a great and unique way to see everything. It was so beautiful! Scott was also a great guide and pointed out a bunch of areas of the island while on the tour. If you’re thinking of ways to see the island in just a few hours, this excursion should definitely be on your list!

Scott was a wonderful tour guide! A nice balance of history, sights, and beautiful beaches. I particularly liked the off roading to a secluded beach. Thank you for a great day!

Scott provided our party of 3 with an amazing experience including spectacular viewpoints and one of the most beautiful secluded beaches I have ever seen. He was well prepared for our needs during the day which included a refreshing rum punch. Scott was very knowledgeable and informative of the history of the island. We highly recommend this tour.

So much fun! There is nothing like bouncing around the back roads of St. Thomas in an open air jeep! Our driver/guide was wonderful. He knew the island intimately and took us to some beautiful spots. We let him guide us but he would have taken suggestions from us if we wanted. I would highly recommend this tour.
