What To Expect
Monastery (Al Dayr)
After picking you up from the hotel we will first have a quick stop at the visitor's center to collect the entry tickets and ride the free shuttle provided be Petra Authority region to little Petra , once we arrive to little Petra will explore the highlights of the site in 15 minutes and get the 4×4 shuttle to the bottom of the monastery stairs where we start climbing up the mountain to the Monastery.
The Colonnaded Street
We will walk downhill 850 steps from the monastery to the ancient Market place of petra (the colonnaded Street).

5.00I decided to travel to Jordan even though there is war situation. However I am so glad that I visited Petra. It’s is absolutely peaceful and safe at the moment. Petra is so empty right now .if you are here now , Petra is all reserved to you . I stayed 3 nights , I was an only guest for whole 3 days . The Guide for Petra was amazing , I have learned not only history but culture and religion they believe. He was knowledgeable and speaks perfect English . The back door to the Monastery was not to miss . The beauty of the Petra is beyond words can express . You can enjoy beautiful views of Petra valley all the way to the monastery. I would strongly recommend to hire Bassil for the guide . You will have great time with him . Again I never felt danger while my stay and everyone welcome you .

5.00We really enjoyed this experience. Basil was not only telling the history of Petra but also showing his best spots to see it. Although climbing to the monastery even backstage involves quite significant climb, it was worth it. Highly recommend.

5.00Bassil was an amazing tour guide and very knowledgeable about Petra. He knew all the great spots that you wouldn’t see if you went alone. I had a tight schedule, as I had to make a flight after, and Bassil was really accommodating and made sure I had the best experience in the time I had. Petra is arguably the best visit I’ve ever had.

5.00Bassil contacted me the day before the excursion to confirm which was appreciated. He is very knowledgeable and took time to explain what we were walking past and viewing. He took some amazing photos of me in Petra. It can be very hot and the back entrance is about 7 miles to the front gate so I would recommend hiking boots. I wore flats which was my own fault but I managed to make it through. The boots will give you more grip while climbing the rocks.

5.00We were 4 - all of us loved out trip to Petra. Taking a guide is a great idea as we learnt more and he was patient answering our many questions. A fantastic experience and certainly a safe one, as at no point did we feel our safety was at risk. We would encourage you to visit Petra.

5.00Couldn’t have had a better guide than Basil for getting oriented and introduced to Petra. Bassil makes sure to take into account not only his customers interests but also what works best for them and offers excellent choices. I hadn’t been in Wadi Musa for more than 12 hrs before the tour and was still battling the 8 hr time difference. Bassil suggested an alternative for the route I had chosen and I still got in my hike while not starting the day going uphill. I had a wonderful day, and lots of beautiful moments captured by Bassil to remember by.
