explore Gougane Barra, this is surrounded by mystery and folklore, here St Finbarr and a fire breathing, slimy creature with ferocious claws called Luiwee had an epic battle which lasted for 5 days and 5 nights until Finbarr finally won the day. Luiwee left the lake and slid down the Lee Valley gouging out the two river channels visible to this very day. St Finbarr decided to settle in the area, founded a monastery and Cork was born. Soak up the scenery in this haven of peace and tranquillity, in the middle of the lake there is an island with a nineteenth century oratory and the ruins of an ancient monastic site dating back to the 6th century. Flawless tour! Brian was a great guide and he was so knowledgeable and accomodating. Perfect timing everywhere we went and we did not feel rushed at any stop. Brian was great at showing us so many great places in the time we had. Highly reccomend it!

Sea’n was amazing. Our driver Sara Jane was wonderful. We had a fold up wheelchair and they were both so very helpful. The stories Sea’n told were very insightful. He is full of so much knowledge of the area. I would definitely do this tour again. The small size was amazing.

My wife and I came to Ireland on our honeymoon and ended up doing two different private tours. Our first tour was for the Cliffs of Moehr with a different company. We enjoyed that tour, but this Ring of Kerry trip through MunsterBus was significantly better than the other tour company. If you are looking to do a private tour in Ireland, I cannot recommend enough booking this experience through Viator or direct with MunsterBus. They are definitely who we will use when we come back to Ireland. We went on a slightly rainy day, but even without perfect weather this was the highlight of our Ireland trip. The scenery is stunning, and it’s not as rushed as some of the other full day 12-13 hour trips where you’re constantly in a hurry. Our tour guide Tony Murphy was fantastic and went above and beyond to give us a great day. We loved the entire experience and cannot wait to come back one day.
