Minneriya National Park
Minneriya National Park serves as a dry season feeding ground for elephants from the forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. It hosts a diverse range of fauna, including 24 mammal species, 160 bird species, 9 amphibian species, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species, and 75 butterfly species. The park is renowned for the world’s largest concentration of wild Asian elephants. Along with Kaudulla and Girithale, Minneriya is one of Sri Lanka’s Important Bird Areas

5.00Sanju picked us up at our hotel and drove to Hurulu Eco Park. We then went inside the park and ended up seeing about 20 elephants in total. What made this so special and better than we could have imagined was, that Sanju drove the smaller and bumpier but therefore much less crowded roads. That’s why we really had the chance to look at the animals in peace and quiet and not with the dust and exhaust fumes from other cars in our faces. He was also very knowledgable and told us a lot of interesting facts about elephants and the other wildlife that he pointed out to us. We also appreciated that he did not hurry us plus he had a great feeling for the direction in which the elephants were going to move so he parked in one spot and then we could watch the elephants moving past us.

5.00Our adventure in the National Park with Sanju has been great! Sanju drove us in the park with his amazing jeep from which we had a unique view of the wildlife in the park. The highlight: We saw a family of elephants and Sanju explained us all the main things to know about this gorgeous animal! Must see!!

5.00We had the most incredible day and saw many elephants - lone bull elephants as well as herds of females of various ages including a mother & newborn! Our driver Madusha (Sanju) was very respectful towards the elephants and also knowledgeable, we learnt a lot about the elephants and other wildlife.
It was so much fun. You can trust them.

5.00We contacted them in advance and asked them to organize two different tours that allowed them to join the Village Safari and Jeep Safari in one day. Even if it was a small question, I could trust you quickly if I emailed you. He was punctual, a very gentlemanly and gentle guide and driver. It was fun to move around talking about various things because I was traveling alone. As a guide, he had a very good eye and was very good at spotting animals while driving. Each time they pulled over and took care to take pictures. At first we were planning to go to Mineria National Park, but the rain caused the water to rise, so we changed to Kadurah National Park. Thanks to their resourcefulness, I was able to meet many elephants. It was great.

5.00We had an amazing experience. Our driver Madushe was fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we got the best views. We saw so many elephants, including a herd of 18 with a baby elephant – absolutely unforgettable! Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area.

5.00Everything was perfect. Pick up and drop off at the hotel. All the time you need during the safari. Elephants, birds, nature. All you can wish for. 10/10, highly recommended.
