What To Expect
Zhaojialou Ancient Town
Upon arrival Shanghai, you will be greeted by your local friendly driver at the airport with your name sign. Travel in the comfortable and air-conditioned car to Zhaojialou ancient water town. One of the most beautiful ancient town with 800 years since it was built in the Yuan Dynasty. It is also the earliest town where the Shanghai agricultural originated. After arrival, start to explore the typical water town scenery and wander along old alley streets full of local flavors and see the intact Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, stone bridges, ancient canal, visit classic gardens etc. while learning the interesting local culture, history and custom from your guide. Sample some of the local authentic street snacks such as Shanghai soup dumpling, Shaomai and take a break and savor a tasty local meal (Lunch or dinner depends on the arrival time). Optional gondola ride along the canal is available to take to fully appreciate the charm of the town. After the wonderful tour, you will be dropped back to the airport to board your connecting flight or your shanghai city hotel for check-in.

5.00This is probably the best tour I've experienced. Sunny, our guide, was flexible and amazing!! When our trip got rained on she offered new options and we had a brand new tour. Sunny was knowledgeable and took us out for a delicious lunch! HIGHLY recommend.

5.00I had a great tour with Lily to this nearby watertown. It is accessible via subway followed by a quick taxi ride. This is a nice small watertown with beautiful canals and traditional architecture, beautiful bridges and all of it easily walkable at a leisurely pace. We saw most of it in few hours including the local food market. The day we went felt like it was a very local tourist area, with many shops catering to the local population. Lily, my guide, was great. We met at my hotel in central Shanghai and hopped on the subway. In no time we arrived in Zhaojialoum but it felt very far from Shanghai. A really pleasant and interseting quick getaway from Shanghai.

5.00Sunny was kind and helpful, making some fun memories of my layover day in Shanghai at Water Town. Her excellent communication and help with customs and even negotiating with vendors and currency issues made things easy and a pleasure. She was also very nice company. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
