What makes this activity unique is that our team gives you the ability to explore the Singhampton caves in the winter, a destination usually only visited in the summer. The contrast between the caves walls, snow and ice is an incredible sight to behold.

Additionally, your guide will customize your experience based on your interests. All guests will experience the same trail entering and exiting the caves, but your guide will customize your exploration of the caves based on your abilities and interests.

After working up an appetite on your hike we encourage you to try out one of our local establishments such as the Mylar & Loretta's Restaurant, a historic building in the hamlet of Singhampton.

What To Expect

Visit us at: stepitupadventures.ca Our snowsoes are private, you will NOT be paired up with other hikers. Snowshoe Description: Enjoy a guided 5.0km (2.5-3.0hrs) snowshoe a top the Niagara Escarpment that will take you through a peaceful mature, mainly deciduous forest on route into and out of the majestic Singhampton Caves. The caves are less visited in the winter, are easier to navigate with the snow levelling out the ground and the contrast in colors between, the snow, caves and sparkling ice-covered walls is spectacular. The caves are open to the sky for those uneasy with tight spaces. After exploring the caves we will stop to enjoy a hot chocolate before heading back to the starting location. What to bring: Water and snacks, appropriate boots and clothing, based on the weather forecast. Nottawasaga Bluffs Caves tour vs. the Singhampton Caves tour: If you are considering which caves tour to book; the Singhampton caves are all open, have taller walls making them more grandeur. The Nottawasaga Bluffs main caves are less numerous, but side caves offer more closed/underground discovery options and a larger lookout point.

I had an amazing experience at the Private Singhampton Caves! From start to finish, it was nothing short of spectacular. Our guide, Sue, was incredibly personable and knowledgeable, making the entire tour both fun and informative. The caves themselves were absolutely gorgeous, with stunning rock formations and a serene atmosphere that truly made the adventure unforgettable. I’m already looking forward to booking again with Sue and highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something unique and exciting!

This was an amazing winter hike! The view was definitely worth the work getting up the escarpment! The caves are simply awe-inspiring in their austere beauty. Our guide, Sue, was so much fun! Very knowledgeable and clearly experienced since she made the whole trek feel safe and fun despite crawling across snow and ice covered rocks! She even took photos for us! The communications from the company were very clear and concise, made planning the trip so much easier. I would strongly recommend this company and this tour...considering going back in the summer to see how it compares!

The views in the snow cave are stunning. Going uphill during the winter season may require a little more effort but Sue is very friendly and helpful with us along the way. Over we had a great time together.

This was a great hike; the leader was knowledgeable and set a comfortable pace. I would book with her again. She not only knows the area well she has knowledge about equipment and planning backwoods trips. One great take away for me was where to get a better set of crampons for my boots. The ones she lent me were perfect and much better than the pair I had been using.

Awesome tour. We both are new to snowshoeing, Lisa and Sue were patient and helpful, we didn’t feel rushed at all and our trip took longer than our booking cause we are new. The tour was so worthwhile! Beautiful views/pics, the girls are so knowledgeable about tour location and true adventurists! Very fun to be around, I would highly recommend!

It was a great hike and the views were awesome, but what made the experience exceptional were the guides Lisa and Sue. They were very accommodating and provided interesting context throughout the journey. They made my whole family feel safe!
