WE TOUR NELSON'S DOCKYARD, SHIRLEYS HEIGHTS & SNORKEL This is a guided tour. Taking in all the sights and sounds of the island on land and in the sea, with a very high chance of snorkeling with sea turtles, and a definite chance of seeing two shipwrecks! The snorkel is in mostly shallow water, off of a beach. THIS IS NOT A BOAT TOUR. Your snorkel guide enjoys spearfishing and can show you things while snorkeling you never even knew were below you! This is a private tour, meaning you will be the only travelers. It is roughly 4 hours long. There is cold water in the vehicle. Lunch is not provided on the tour. You will also have videos of you snorkeling around the shipwrecks and turtles emailed to you after the tour. If you don't wish to snorkel or if not all travelers would like to participate in the snorkel that is okay as well. Admission to national parks not included, it is 15$USD for two tickets, meaning you only pay one time.

What To Expect
WE TOUR Nelson's Dockyard and Shirley's Heights, finally we will be snorkeling for about an hour around a couple shipwrecks and looking for turtles, we normally always encounter them, but it depends on the visibility that day. I would say 85-90% of guests encounter turtles. Snorkeling is done in a protected harbor meaning the water is very calm and relatively shallow and visibility is normally good. Even beginners or first time snorkelers can do this. THIS IS NOT A BOAT TOUR! Admission to the national parks is 15$USD which gives you two tickets one for Nelson's Dockyard and one for Shirley's Heights. So to clarify you only pay one time for both parks! Tour Duration time is approximate, and depends on where you are staying and how far drive time is.

5.00Johnny, our tour guide was an eclectic mix of Middle Eastern, Antiguan and Canadian heritage was a great guide to Nelson's Dockyard and the other miscellaneous points of interest along the way. He communicated with me during the pickup, allowing for extra time to get to us since the resort was out of the way and accessed by a rough stretch of road that really tests a vehicle's tires and suspension. His private tour allowed him to focus exclusively on his guests and tailor his tour to the guests' interests. Not only does he care about the quality of his tour and presentation, he cares about the safety and well being of his guests. I unfortunately cut my foot on a piece of coral when entering the water and he strongly advised me not to continue the tour for my own safety. He immediately offered a partial refund of the tour price which I declined since it was my own fault that I cut my foot. He stayed with me while I made my way back to the van, supporting me the entire way. I can't wait to return and book the same tour again, this time taking more care when entering the water. He is trying to expand his business and I wish him all the best and much success in the future.

5.00We had such a great time! Such an amazing experience and even got to see turtles despite the bad weather. They even managed to collect us from our hotel (hermitage bay) despite the road leading to the property being very bad. Other excursions refused to collect us, but this wasn’t an issue here! Can’t recommend enough!

5.00We really enjoyed the trip with Johnny. From the moment he picked us up, we felt like we were in a safe and knowledgeable pair of hands. It was great to hear his insight and experience of living in Antigua whilst driving. At both stops Johnny gave an informative introduction and then we had some time to explore independently. The highlight however was the snorkelling stop where we saw two turtles and a stingray. Having Johnny film the snorkelling is a great addition!

Johnny is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Antigua’s history, he taught us all about Nelson’s dockyard and Shirley’s Heights while also giving us enough time to take in the views. The snorkeling was also incredible and he even sent us personalized go pro footage of what we saw! Highly recommend this tour!

Had a lovely time exploring Shirley Heights and Nelson‘s dockyard plenty of time to get the highlights of each place and then had plenty of time for an enjoyable snorkel tour at Galleon Beach. Johnny was a great guide and showed us some awesome stuff. Video on go pro is such an awesome souvenir to remember our fun trip. He also picked us up from our hotel— value was 10 out of 10. Wonderful memories!

5.00My husband and I had an outstanding experience with Johnny Boutros! We were on a cruise and decided to book privately rather than face large crowds. Johnny was VERY prompt in contacting and keeping in touch with us prior to our excursion. He met us very close to the pier with his car and we proceeded immediately to our route, thus beating the crowds. Johnny is very knowledgeable about all things Antigua and shared much information with us throughout the tour. When it was time to snorkel, Johnny safely lead us to points of interest and sea life. We saw several turtles, an octopus, a ship wreck, as well as other sunken items. I would recommend this private experience over any large group tour! Thank you for an awesome day, Johnny!!!!

5.00Johnny was phenomenal! He was very informative about island history and local culture. He is outgoing and friendly. We say stingrays, turtles, a shipwreck and anchor. He snapped photos for us.
