Cerritos is a world-renowned surf spot with a beach break. It is exposed to west swells that can light up for days in super clean conditions. It is a great spot not only for the experienced surfer but also for beginners. Our professional coaches’ goal is to make you feel so safe that you won´t miss any fun. It won´t take long for you to experience the craving for the wave!.

No prior experience is required! Our classes are designed for all experience levels, from beginners (we teach you enough to catch a wave) to experts (we offer coaching), always ensuring a great experience at each level as needed.
Minimum age is 6 years
Our prices are the same for both children and adults. If we have children participating we always aim to have an extra guide for supervision. When you book your surf lesson, please specify whether the participants are children.
For every 3 people in a class, there will be 1 guide/coach
We use foam boards for our surf lessons. If you prefer a fiberglass surfboard please be sure to request this in advance at the time of booking.
Since this is a private tour, you can decide whether or not to complete the full activity
Minimum 3 and Maximum 10 participants.
Lunch is included. We’ll take you to a local restaurant, offering 100% Mexican dishes such as fish tacos, chicken, beef, salsa, guacamole, tortilla chips, and refreshing flavored water. We also have a vegetarian option with salads, quesadillas, beans, rice, etc. Lunch is included but optional, so there is no discount offered on the activity if you choose not to go for lunch.
We have two seasons for surf lessons, in the summer from March 15 to November 15, surf lessons are available on the Costa Azul. In winter from November 15 to March 15, we offer surf lessons at Cerritos beach During the winter there are no waves on the Costa Azul beach, which is why the change is made to Cerritos beach.
Our activities take place on the beach, where there are no locker facilities. However, you can safely leave your personal belongings in the transportation.
As we know the weather is a factor that can lead us to modify our day, sometimes we will have to change location, reschedule and / or cancel (the refund will be issued 100% in case of cancellation by us). You will be informed of the options and you will make the decision. Factors that could influence this are rain, high swell, wind and jellyfish.
For a full refund, you must cancel at least 48 hours in advance of the start date of the experience. No show or last minute cancellation will be charged in full. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
All transfers are complementary and optional, therefore the price doesn’t change if you don’t use the transfer option.
To join the lesson as an observer you have to book a non-surfer/companion spot on our transport. The non-surfer/companion fee includes round trip transportation, shaded camp (umbrellas and chairs), bottled water and snacks. You’ll be able to enjoy the beach at our camp while observing the surf lesson. To book, simply select “observer (non-surfer)”.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

5.00Monito and Sol took my family and I to Cerritos to surf. We had a great experience. They walked us through exactly how to paddle out past the break, and supported us in the water throughout the whole session. They even got some great go pro clips of us! Would absolutely recommend.

5.00Highly Recommend this experience with High Tide! Omg! We had THE BEST TIME! Like an 11/10… our guides absolutely made our day! Sol and Fernando ~ ask for them!! … let me just add, they both seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and their smiles and laughs were a plenty (ok, maybe I’m funny… but really! It’s easy to get annoyed or burnt out as guides!) Logistically speaking… Van arrived on time and was clean, guides reviewed our day and made it clear that they were willing to accommodate as possible. We really lucked out with the weather and the waves and our crew had an absolute BLAST. Lunch was great and included~ I found one perk to be with a local while inquiring about prices w beach vendors etc. (ok, I may have ended up getting a massage instead of surfing…. And if that’s your jam~ Mary was great!) We all agreed it was a simply fantastic day and cannot overstate the wonderful time we had!! {hey! HighTide… consider a raise for these two!!! 🥰}

5.00Traveled to Cabo and San Jose with my two girls for a last minute 7 day vacation before school started. This event was so far my kids favorite. My two daughters, (11 and 13 years old) and myself had so much fun. We all really enjoyed it. Marco Pollo, and Mono are very patient and kind. Their guidance and instructions were the best. All 3 of us were able to stand confidently on a surf board within 20-30 minutes. My kids loved it more than parasailing! If you are in San Jose or Cabo, you will not regret booking this event! I highly recommend it.

5.00This was a great 3 hr trip with amazing scenery and it was a blast. Javier and Luis were awesome hosts and very prepared. They picked us up at our hotel right on time, gave us quite a bit of history of Cabo and shared other things to do while in Cabo on the ride to where we launch the kayaks. We then kayaked out to the arches for some photos and then back Pelican Rock for some great snorkeling where the scenery was great! Highly recommend this trip and request Javier and Luis, you wont regret it!
