Magical Danube Bend at Winter time!

You can discover the marvelous medieval town of Szentendre, where you can enjoy love and christmas decoration, feel spellbound with the charming atmosphere of street shops.

Lovely walk at the narrow cobble stone streets with cozy café shops. You will arrive at the beautiful baroque town Vác by ferry. Time to stroll to see city center, hear the bell ringing ceremony of the churches. Lunch with a perfect view to Danube.

As a plus I will take you to a remarkable secret hidden site of Vác next a wonderful lake where you can take awesome pictures in the nature at Seven Chapels.

Main Square (Fo ter)

this town’s marvellous main square is situated in the very heart of Szentendre. This is the point from where everything in the town begins, and it is surrounded by a selection of shops, restaurants and churches. A medieval town that was rebuilt in the 17th century, Szentendre is shrouded in history, clearly portrayed in the main square with its cobbled streets and old style buildings. For those seeking to visit and explore Szentendre, this is the place to start.

Szamos Marzipan Exhibition and Workshop

The Szamos Marzipan Museum is one of Szentendre’s most visited attractions. Dedicated to Matyas Szamos, the founder of the Szentendre Marzipan Factory, this museum offers visitors an insight into the wonderful world of confectionery.

    Overall an enjoyable day. Peter, the host, guide and driver, arrived at the hotel early for pickup. We were a party of 4 and his smaller car was barely enough room for us all. The highlight of the tour was the unknown and unassuming town of Vac. Beautiful, quiet, clean and untouristed. The visit to Szentendre was less interesting because the main street that we visited was very touristy with various craftspeople making and trying to sell a variety of items. Peter has strong religious and political views, which came out in conversation. His point of view was interesting, but he mistook a bit of interest and curiosity on our part as an invitation to take us to his church. There was a nice view of the village and the river from the tower, but we were at the church for about an hour, which was too long on a tour described as a visit to local cities. The price of tours in this area is high, but I didn't feel that the content of the tour warranted a price of $150+/- per person. If you enjoy the human interaction, he will show you a good time. If you want to save significant money, you can take the train from Budapest to Szentendre and wander on your own or download an audio walking tour.

    Peter was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and flexible as we sought out experiences rather than toured. Budapest is a beautiful city and equally charming are the sites outside of the cities. Peter is timely and efficient. Great communication and we felt at ease traveling the day with him. Highly recommend him for touring about.

    Our guide, Peter, was knowledgeable and informative. Our driver,Chris, was excellent, always watching out for us. After a wonderful tour of Szentendre we had to detour to Visegard instead of Voc due to ferry issues, so Peter was able to turn a potential disappointment into an even better than expected tour getting to see the Visegard Castle. He took us to a restaurant where the locals eat and it was great. Perfect day!

    Cool tour, we were able to discover a more rural side of Hungary :) Peter is a very open, friendly and funny guide :) We were able to see a lot and also learn a lot about the culture and history of Hungary
