Sensational tasting experience. You can learn so much about the entire region in this one tasting experience from kind, patient, knowledgable guides. I will highly recommend this to anyone visiting Burgundy. It was wildly generous and informative.

A very unexpected experience and not like any tasting Mary and I have ever done. Thierry, the proprietor of the shop where the tasting was done, only book an individuals or couples. He says he does this to “keep the information flowing smoothly.” About this he was very accurate. Over the next two hours or so, we received what could pass for a Master Class in the wine of Burgundy. With each of seven (!) wines, Thierry first introduced, then left us to form our own impressions, rather than telling us what we would smelling/tasting. He would then return, listen to our reactions and respond in a way that built our knowledge from one wine to the next. He was very serious and incredibly passionate about this product about which he has spent his entire adult life learning. He constantly encouraged us to talk about what we were experiencing, and used our thoughts to lead us to a deeper understanding. We consider the tasting (and we told Thierry this) to be a privilege, rather than a purchased event.

Fabulous wines and a thoroughly fascinating talk with Alex. Well worth it if you want to try some of the region’s finest wines, particularly if you’d like the tasting explained in English. Really top notch wine knowledge

It was very informative. Alex obviously has a passion for what he does and did his best to educate us in the short time he had with us.

Fluent Englishspeaking lecturer Thierry was very good and were able to give us a good high level lecture on the wines of Bourgogne. We had plenty of time and were able to taste and discuss all the wines

Good information about the wine region and the conditions for making wines. Good wines we got to taste. The room was less interesting.

Alex provides a great tasting and is very knowledgeable about Burgundy wines. He is open to questions and will answer all of them. This was a very nice tasting because it focused on the Grand Cru and Premier Crus of Burgundy, all things that would be difficult to taste outside of the region. Alex did a fantastic job of curating some very different wines so we could see the expressions of individual winemakers. We were able to take our time and truly reflect on the wines before Alex told us more about them. I really appreciated the notes to guide the tasting. Overall, this is a great way to experience Burgundy wines, whether you know a little or a lot. The shop has some very interesting wines, including old vintages, at very reasonable price points. It’s worth spending some time here.
