Are you short on time but still want to get a sense of what Amsterdam is all about? This is the private tour for you. In this intriguing walking tour we share our quirkiest stories, the interesting history of Amsterdam, and some of the city’s most iconic places. The cities most famous highlights and hidden gems.
If possible we pick you up from your hotel to walk into the old city center. We will stroll through the quaint streets of the canal district. Visit the heart of the city at the famous Dam Square & got lost in the old working class are Jordaan.
From there we make our way through the more quiet streets to the river Amstel. We continue to the Magere Brug (The Bridge of Love) with lovely views of the Amsterdam boat scene. At one of the more hidden squares in the canal district we sit down for a refreshing drink under the trees.
After a short break we will pass the Jewish Quarter & end in the oldest part of town nearby Nieuwmarkt.

5.00Small group of 12 for a walking tour. Learned lots of Amsterdam history and saw lots of great architecture. Don’t actually go into any sites during the tour. One stop for coffee and break during the three hours. Guide will adjust walk based on participants.

5.00Absolutely wonderful. A ton of information about Amsterdam and Europe. Gave us choices of where to go. Carolina knew everything about everything and was always interesting. Just the two of us and Carolina kept moving in the rain and cold.

5.00Amazing guide Jeroen was beyond brilliant. Our four kids (ages 10-16) and my husband and me found the tour to be fascinating. We saw all of the hilights and learned soooo much in our three hour tour. Jeroen even brought along laminated maps and photos to bring even more life to his stories. We were captivated the whole time. THANK YOU! Hilight of our trip!!

5.00It was a private walking tour with just my husband and I and we loved it. Our guide Kaleigh was very knowledgable about the city's facts. It was great she was born in the U.S. and could understand the language as other guides its hard when English is not their first language and speak with heavy accent. We would highly recommended taking this tour! It was too bad the Ann Frank house was closed on that day because it was a Jewish holiday but more reason to return.

5.00Chris is very knowledgeable, and friendly. His love of Amsterdam really shines through. We like photography and Chris took us to THE BEST spots for photography during a day tour and a separate evening tour. He even let us borrow his tripod for some evening long exposure photography. I highly recommend Chris for your tours of Amsterdam!

5.00Simon met up with us in our hotel, where we started our tour. Throughout the tour, he showed us to many hot spots around Amsterdam and more notably, he gave interesting facts regarding said spots. He was enthusiastic throughout the tour, and thanks to him, we were able to much better understand and appreciate life in Amsterdam in the span of 3 hours. It was a fun walk around Amsterdam, and I definitely recommend everyone to try out this tour, especially for those who plan to stay in Amsterdam for a day or two :)

They promptly returned my emails, quickly quoted rates, provided excellent tour guides and even assisted with a car service from airport to hotel and back. They confirmed all activities prior to each event. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a private tour guide(s). I am not into the Red Bus kind of tours or large group tours. Working with AE makes each tour so personal and guides are only focused on you and your comfort.
