On our way from Munich to Vienna we decided to stop in Salzburg to see Hallstatt. Carlos picked us up at the train station and whisked us off on a 6 hour tour. We drove through Salzburg and did a quick walk around before heading to Hallstatt. Carlos was fantastic and gave us lots of information on the history of the areas we were driving through. We made a few stops along the way to take photos and then ended up in beautiful Hallstatt. He walked us around a bit and then let us go off on our own to explore and have lunch. He met us at the other end of town, took some more photos and then we headed back to the train station. He took a different route back so we got to see more of the beautiful country and we even made a quick Sound of Music stop on our way. I was hesitant to make this quick stop on our trip because obviously Salzburg and the surrounding area deserves more than just 6 hours, but I am so glad we did. It was a great overview of a beautiful area and we are eager to return one day.
